Swinging for a Brighter Future: BBBSLC Hosts 5th Annual Golf Outing at Red Tail
Community, Corporate Partners, and Metro Lexus Rally to Support Life-Changing Mentorship for Lorain County Youth

On October 6, 2025, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lorain County (BBBSLC) will hold its 5th Annual Swing Fore Kids Golf Outing at Red Tail Golf Club. Proceeds from the event support Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mission of helping children and youth facing adversity achieve measurable outcomes leading to lifelong success. Founded in Lorain County in 1994, BBBSLC is an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, which has developed a highly effective model of mentoring, with formalized standards and procedures for its affiliates. This has led to the model’s recognition as a top-ranked evidence-based program.
The success of the BBBSLC Golf Event at Red Tail is due to the hard work of its board and the Golf
Committee, chaired by Red Tail Member, Susan Elder, who has also served over 10 years on the organization’s board of directors. Golf Sponsors from throughout the business community have ensured the golf outing’s success and positive financial contribution to the organization.
Raymond Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning; Simplified Facilities; The Sherwin-Williams
Company; Universal Oil Company; ShurTape Technologies; Avient Corporation; Renner Otto
Intellectual Property Law; Stewart’s Appliance; Smitek Construction; Wolfey’s Bistro & Pub;
Richard and Susan Elder; and GroundWorks are all ongoing sponsors of the event.
Supporting BBBSLC’s Golf Outing for the third year in a row is Metro Lexus. They are once again sponsoring the Hole in One Contest with the opportunity for a lucky golfer to win a new Metro Lexus RX 350. They are also offering a discount to participants on the purchase of a new Lexus vehicle with a matching contribution made to BBBSLC.
“At Metro Lexus, we believe that the essence of true luxury lies not only in
craftsmanship and innovation, but in the responsibility to uplift the communities we
serve,” said Pete Mapp, vice president of Ascent Auto Group, of which Metro Lexus is a
part. “Supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lorain County is an extension of that
philosophy. Their tireless work to mentor and empower disadvantaged youth resonates
deeply with our core values. We recognize that investing in young lives today creates
the leaders, dreamers, and innovators of tomorrow. It is an honor to stand beside an
organization that so profoundly transforms potential into possibility. Through our
partnership, we hope to help these young individuals not just imagine a brighter
future, but experience amazing.”
