The Perfect Return
After years away, Lou and Lynn Olson return to Red Tail and create a home centered on connection, comfort, and celebration.
For Lou and Lynn Olson, moving back to Red Tail feels a bit like returning to a place they were always meant to be. After previously living in the neighborhood for 13 years, the couple spent some time in Avon, Connecticut, before finding their way back to Ohio’s Avon. Now living in their home on Via San Angelo, they couldn’t be happier.
Their home has a unique story behind it. Originally built as the 2023 “A Home for the Holidays” raffle home, Lou and Lynn first discovered it online while still living in Connecticut. When the raffle didn’t sell enough tickets, the home was placed on the market, and the timing turned out to be perfect. The Olsons feel very grateful to have found it and to now call it their own.
One of the things they love most about their home is the way it naturally brings people together. The open flow between the kitchen and family room allows conversation and connection to carry easily from space to space, all while being surrounded by bright, light-filled rooms that create an inviting and connected atmosphere.
Recently, they added one of their favorite features yet—a four-season screened porch with vinyl panels for the winter months, a fully equipped kitchen, and a fireplace. The space opens directly to a fire pit area outside, creating the perfect setting for starlit evenings and year-round entertaining.
Since moving back, Lou and Lynn have already filled their home with meaningful gatherings and special memories. From hosting a wedding shower for their son and daughter-in-law, to lively hibachi nights with family and friends (complete with sake-filled squirt guns of course), to Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations, their home has truly been at the center of so many memories. They are also looking forward to hosting an upcoming co-ed baby shower, along with many more gatherings to come.
For those looking to enhance their own homes, Lou and Lynn offer a simple but thoughtful piece of advice: embrace what makes your space feel like you. As they put it, "Comparison is the thief of joy, especially in home decor. Your neighbor might have a minimalist modern home, but if you love cozy clutter and warm colors, lean into that. A home that reflects your personality will always feel better than one that reflects a catalog."
The Olsons’ home isn’t just about the design—it’s about the life lived inside it. And on Via San Angelo, theirs is filled with warmth, laughter, and a deep appreciation for being exactly where they are meant to be.
