Darryl Visocky’s Grade A Ride
A detailed look into a car that is sure to turn heads
Everyone dreams about what kind of ride they will see themselves driving in the future. For Darryl Visocky, he gets to live that vision every day of his life.
The Story Behind the Car
Darryl drives a 2023 Corvette Stingray 3LT Z51 70th Anniversary Edition. He also had a history with Corvettes spanning back to the 1960’s. “When the new C8 came out in 2020, it was the first Corvette design he loved since the mid-60s. The mid engine changed everything,” said Darryl. “A close friend had ordered it and, after 2 years, had only one thousand miles on it. He offered it to me before putting it up for sale.” When asked about how long he had owned the car, Darryl said, “I’ve owned it for a little over a year. Sherry and I were in the Delta Club in Atlanta, heading to Barcelona, when I received the call from my friend saying he was selling it. It might have been the cocktails talking, but I said ‘sure I’ll buy it!’ Sherry asked what that was about, and I said ‘I just bought a custom Stingray!’ I’ve owned a lot of sports cars and performance cars, but this is at another level!”
Personal Collection and Driving Lifestyle
Darryl knew that this Stingray was the one when it was offered to him, but his connection to the vehicle goes much deeper than just owning it. To Darryl, a great car can help anyone out with their character, with him stating that “With the exception of taste, a great car hits all the other senses. I now understand why all the great supercars are all mid engine.” And with a car like Darryl’s, it would also follow that he would take it out in public to show it off. “I try to drive it as much as possible, as the weather permits,” said Darryl. “I would like to start taking it to car shows on the weekends.”

The Stingray doesn’t only look nice on the outside, but it also looks great on the inside as well. When asked what he appreciated most about the car, Darryl commented that “The carbon fiber ground effects” and that he hopes that people will recognize “That it’s not only beautiful but incredibly well engineered.” Darryl also stated that he believes that his purchase has affected those around him, with him saying that “Neighbors stopped by to see it when I brought it home & one neighbor even went out and bought a new one.”
Care and Reward
Care and Reward
Taking care of any car, especially an expensive and high-class one, is a challenging but rewarding task. “The car was modified immediately after it was built, and I have maintained it in that condition,” said Darryl. “The most rewarding part of this car is that it’s very fast and the most challenging part is that it’s very fast.” Darryl also has a piece of advice to anyone who is looking to buy a high-end vehicle themselves: “You must really love the car to purchase it and understand that there are high costs to maintain.”
