Strength for Life
Building strength isn’t just about lifting weights—it’s about preserving the freedom, independence, and energy to enjoy the life you’ve worked so hard to create.
The Strength to Live the Life You Want
What if getting stronger was never really about lifting heavier weights? What if it was about having the strength to keep doing the things you love, staying active as life changes, and maintaining the independence to live life on your own terms? For Jeff
Tomaszewski, founder, CEO, and Chief Life Transformer of MaxStrength Fitness, strength is about far more than what happens inside a gym. It is about building the capacity to enjoy the life you have worked so hard to create.
Jeff grew up in Toledo, Ohio, and has called Northeast Ohio home for more than 30 years. His path into fitness began with an education rooted in understanding both the body and the mind. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sports
medicine, followed by a master’s degree in exercise physiology from Case Western Reserve University. After working as a clinical athletic trainer, Jeff became an assistant athletic trainer and professor at Case, where he began seeing a need for something
different.
People wanted to become stronger and healthier, but traditional gym routines did not always fit into their busy lives. Jeff saw an opportunity to create a strength-training solution that was effective, sustainable, and designed around the realities of everyday
life. In 2007, he founded MaxStrength Fitness in Westlake. Today, that original vision has grown into a franchise system bringing the MaxStrength approach to communities across the country.
At the heart of the business is a simple idea: most gyms sell access, while MaxStrength Fitness is focused on delivering outcomes. Clients complete two private, trainer-led
strength sessions each week, with each session lasting just 20 minutes. The science- backed, continuous-tension protocol is personalized to each individual, allowing clients to train efficiently without spending hours in a traditional gym environment.
Even the studios themselves are intentionally different. The spaces are clinically controlled at 67 degrees and designed without crowds, loud music, or mirrors. There is no pressure to spend hours on a treadmill or follow someone else’s routine. Instead,
every element is built around helping clients become stronger in a way that can realistically fit into their lives.
For Jeff, that philosophy extends far beyond fitness. One of the books that has had the greatest impact on his life is Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. Its central message, that we may not always control our circumstances but can choose how we respond to them, has stayed with Jeff through adversity, leadership, and
entrepreneurship.
That perspective was shaped profoundly by his late wife, Jodi, whose drive, passion, and commitment to others helped redefine Jeff’s understanding of leadership, service, and legacy. In her honor, Jeff established The JLT Fund, which helps driven women
pursue a law degree. For him, her influence is a reminder that success is not measured solely by what we build, but by the people we lift along the way.
That same belief is reflected in Jeff’s approach to MaxStrength Fitness. Family remains at the heart of his life as a proud father to his three daughters, Emma, Chloe, and Paige. Whether he is building a growing business or supporting the people closest to
him, Jeff views his work through the lens of purpose and service.
His advice to residents is straightforward: treat your health as your greatest wealth. Strength, he believes, is not simply about lifting more weight. It is about remaining active, capable, and independent for as long as possible. You do not need endless
hours in a gym or extreme workouts to make a difference. You need a sustainable plan, consistency, and a commitment to the life you want to enjoy tomorrow.
That idea is central to Jeff’s philosophy. Fitness is not the destination; it is a tool for protecting the life beyond the workout. The strength you build today can help you continue traveling, playing with your grandchildren, pursuing your passions, and
showing up for the people you love.
At MaxStrength Fitness, the goal is not simply to help people get stronger. It is to help them stay strong for life.
