For many college students, studying abroad is a dream opportunity. For Nina Sexton, that dream became a reality during her third year at West Virginia University when she spent a semester studying in Slovenia at the University of Ljubljana.

Living in Slovenia gave Nina the chance to experience a country she likely would not have visited otherwise. While continuing her college coursework, she embraced life in a new culture and took advantage of every opportunity to explore Europe. Nearly every weekend brought a new adventure as she traveled to different countries, discovering historic cities, breathtaking landscapes, and unforgettable experiences.

One of the most meaningful parts of her time abroad was meeting people from around the world. Forming friendships with students from different countries allowed her to learn about a variety of cultures, traditions, and perspectives. She also enjoyed trying new foods and experiencing different ways of life, making each destination unique and memorable.

Although traveling throughout Europe was a highlight, Nina also appreciated the opportunity to study at the University of Ljubljana. Balancing academics with travel helped her grow both personally and academically while gaining a broader understanding of the world.

Looking back, Nina describes studying abroad as one of the most rewarding experiences of her college years. The memories she made, the friendships she built, and the places she explored left a lasting impact that she will always carry with her.
