Running For Asher!

"Autism doesn't come with an instruction guide, It comes with a family that doesn't give up." - Kerry Magro

My name is Nancy Bird,  I’m a Provo River Bottoms resident running the New York City Marathon this November in honor of my nephew, Asher. Asher is my oldest brother’s son,  he was diagnosed with autism at around two years old.
For the past decade my brother and sister-in-law have worked tirelessly to advocate for him, ensuring he has every opportunity to thrive. Watching him grow has been incredible—full of progress and joy. Both of my older brothers have run the New York City Marathon for this very cause, raising awareness and funds to support the autism community.
Now, as the “baby sister,” it’s my turn to carry the torch for Asher. I’m running to raise funds for KultureCity, an amazing nonprofit dedicated to creating sensory accessibility and inclusion for individuals with invisible disabilities. Their programs make a real difference for families like ours, from training public venues to hosting sensory-friendly events and providing resources that help kids like Asher participate in more of life’s moments.
This race is extra special because Asher will be in New York on race day to cheer me across the finish line. My goal is to raise $5,000 for KultureCity, and every donation—big or small—helps them continue their incredible work.
