Bourbon-Chocolate Balls

A family favorite from a cherished Cajun cookbook, these Bourbon-Chocolate Balls mix chocolate, cherries, and a splash of bourbon for a tasty treat!

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 c. of cherries, cut up.                       
  • 2 c. of dates, cut up                              
  • 1 c. of walnuts or pecans, chopped     
  • 1 (12oz) pack of Vanilla Wafers, crushed (about 2 c.)
  • 2 (6oz.) packs of semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • ½ stick of margarine
  • ½ c. of bourbon

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Chop or grind the nuts and crush the Vanilla Wafers.
  2. Mix nuts together with melted chocolate chips, melted margarine, cherries, dates, and bourbon. 
  3. Chill. 
  4. Roll into balls and roll balls in powdered sugar to coat.
  5. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator or freezer.
