Discovering Morocco

From colorful markets and desert nights to the charm of Tangier, John and Mary Campbell found plenty to love in one of North Africa's most fascinating destinations.

Few destinations offer the variety of experiences found in Morocco. In one trip, travelers can explore centuries-old markets, bike through breathtaking landscapes, spend the night beneath desert skies, and relax along the Mediterranean coast. That's exactly what River Ranch neighbors John and Mary Campbell experienced during their recent adventure. We asked Mary to share a few highlights from their journey.

What inspired you to visit Morocco?
We were inspired by the uniqueness of the country. Morocco offers such a different culture, landscape, and experience that we knew we wanted to see it for ourselves.

What made your trip unique?
One of the highlights was riding bikes through Morocco. It was a wonderful way to experience the country's scenery and culture from a different perspective.

We also slept in a tent in the desert, which was an unforgettable experience.

What was your favorite part of the trip?
We loved riding our bikes throughout Morocco, but Tangier was especially memorable. It quickly became one of our favorite places we visited.

Any recommendations for neighbors planning a trip?
If you visit Tangier, we highly recommend staying at Villa Mabrouka. We also loved exploring the markets in Marrakech.
