Double the Tails, Double the Love: Meet Baxter & Max-a-Million
These two lovable pups bring plenty of personality, snuggles, and neighborhood adventures to their RiverTown family.
Baxter, an 11-year-old Yorkie mix, celebrated his birthday on Christmas Day. While Yorkies are typically small, Baxter proudly tips the scales at a solid 35 pounds, making him a big personality in a small-dog package. His favorite part of living in RiverTown? The walking trails. Daily walks are easily the highlight of his day.
Baxter joined the family years ago after being adopted from a pet store. He was actually “on sale” because no one had chosen him yet—something his family now finds hard to imagine given the joy he brings to their lives.
Max-a-Million, whose age and breed are unknown, has a heartwarming story of his own. Nearly two years ago, a RiverTown neighbor posted about a sweet dog they had rescued from the Westside but sadly needed to rehome due to allergies. The family stepped in, and Max officially joined them on New Year’s Day.
“We were lucky enough to become his chosen family,” they say. “He has been the best addition to our home.”
Max is known for being a little love bug who fits in perfectly with the family—and with Baxter, who quickly became his best friend and “brother from another mother.” Together, the two enjoy snuggling, walks, and playtime, often hoping to run into their neighborhood buddy Smudge along the way.
Both dogs were named after their owners’ favorite movies - Anchorman and The Grinch - a fitting tribute to two pups with plenty of personality.
When they’re not out exploring the trails, Baxter and Max can usually be found lounging on the back porch furniture soaking up a beautiful Florida day. Their favorite treats include No-Hide bones and anything from the pet deli at Pet Supermarket, and their special talents include snuggling, accepting treats, and sleeping most of the day.
They aren’t big fans of car rides, but Baxter does enjoy the occasional golf cart ride around the neighborhood, which might just be his dream adventure.
When asked about their favorite memory with their pets, the family’s answer is simple:
“Every day with them is a favorite memory.”
And in a neighborhood built around connection and community, Baxter and Max-a-Million are clearly right at home.
