The Women’s Community Club of Rolling Hills Hosts Annual Appreciation Luncheon
The Women’s Community Club of Rolling Hills hosted its annual appreciation luncheon on Wednesday, May 29th, to honor the hard-working employees of the City and the RHCA. The event, held “on the green” at City Hall, brought together city and association staff to share camaraderie and a delicious lunch. The luncheon, a beloved tradition in Rolling Hills, is an opportunity for the Women’s Club to express its appreciation for the dedication and commitment of those who ensure the smooth operation and well-being of the city.
This year's event was particularly special due to its location. Historically, WCCRH members have opened their homes for this lunch, which often made it challenging for staff to attend during the work day. By holding the lunch on the green at City Hall, so close to the offices, it meant that more staff were able enjoy the lunch in their honor: they just walked outside!
Lunch was quite the gourmet meal, with options of salmon and chicken as the main courses, accompanied by an array of beautiful sides and desserts. The menu, prepared by some of our extremely talented WCCRH club members included fresh, crisp salads, savory roasted veggies and to finish it off, rich, indulgent desserts.
This afternoon delight was just our way of showing our appreciation and gratitude to those who work so hard for the community and in support of the WCCRH throughout the year.
To foster community spirit, the WCCRH looks forward to hosting several more events in the second half of the year. In late July we will put on the Area 1 (Eastfield and its environs, including PV Drive North) neighborhood meeting outdoors in the cul-de-sac of Bowie Road. On August 22nd the WCCRH will host the Area 4 neighborhood meeting (Portuguese Bend North and its environs) on the green at City Hall. Our annual Tea will be on September 15th and Snow Day will be on Sunday, Dec 8.
All these wonderful events require tables and chairs. Did you know the Women’s Club has tables and chairs for rent? If you are planning a get-together this summer, please contact Lisa Waldo at 310-872-0472 for more information.
