Annual Pancake Breakfast
Kevin Moen and Steve Cooley enjoying their breakfast
What started out as a drizzly and foggy morning turned out to be a perfect day for the Annual Pancake Breakfast. On Sunday, May 21st, over 120 new and long-term residents trotted down to the newly rebuilt Caballeros Ring at Hesse’s Gap for a delicious breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and fruit with all the trimmings catered by Marie Calendar’s and coordinated by Jana Cooley. Also, yogurt, homemade granola, pomegranate syrup, and lemon ginger syrup from Helen Frykman are always a treat!!
This event is a great opportunity to welcome many new residents and to showcase the beauty of the heart of our city.
Lisa Nguyen brought her pony “Misty” and many of our younger residents were escorted around the ring by Boy Scout Troop 191. For some, it was their first time to experience a pony ride… but probably won’t be the last! The Boy Scouts were also a big help with tear down and clean up. We were truly grateful for their help!!
President Rob Hammond, along with his wranglers Greg Willis and Sean Cardenas arranged for a trail ride after breakfast. Approximately 12 riders set out to enjoy the newly re-opened beautiful trails of Rolling Hills. A big Thank You to Arty Beckler and his team for their hard work in clearing the trails from the damage and overgrowth that they encountered with the unprecedented rain we had this year.
Stay tuned for more upcoming events later this year!
