2023 saw a great uptick in tennis and pickleball activities. Court bookings were up year-over-year, and many more skill-based training events and coaching sessions were requested and organized.  Our Club quarterly events were all over subscribed and we can now say nearly 50% of all residents are members of the courts club on our reservation and information system www.yourcourts.com.

 

As October comes to an end we squeezed in just one more get-together with a Halloween dress-up theme, informal drop-in event. With thanks to 'Flo' from Progressive (Shari Cimmarusti), who also won the prize for most popular costume, and made sure we didn't go thirsty at all with delicious fresh juices and champagne.  Mimosa's anyone? Lisa Mills baked a delicious pumpkin spice cake and there were apple turnovers and samosas from Naz Mian too.  Jessica Slaught created some wonderful designs for pickleball bags and tee shirts to keep us well dressed on the courts, oh and then there were the many energetic and enthusiastic games as folks gradually shed some of their costumes in their quest to be able to move more freely and to win those points.  Coach Mario Franco was kind enough to join us and join in the fun and a rare sighting of Alan Cherry playing pickleball was also recorded for posterity :) Thanks to everyone who made great efforts with their costumes and came along ready to play and have fun on a gorgeous Fall-like morning. 

 

So what's important about our club? As Residents we have our own amazing facility, soon to be even better as it's brought up to date with a new pavilion and renovations and updates to court 1, targeted for completion in 2024.   We're all excited about that :),   the whole thing is really all about Community, with definitely some fitness and healthy competition thrown in for good measure, as new neighbors become new friends whilst they learn how to 'dink' and 'lob'! At our events, our more seasoned members catch up with their friends' news over a bite to eat and a cocktail too.
