Entrepreneur Cole Van Nortwick

Vintage Materials meets Mickey's Deli

Rolling Hills residents, Lisa and Gerry Van Nortwick, are proud of their son, Cole, who grew up with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for art and collecting vintage clothing. His early exposure to art came through his mother, Lisa, the artist behind Lesal Ceramics."

In 2015, having curated a collection of 1960’s -1990’s clothing, he turned it into a full-fledged business aptly named Vintage Materials. With a discerning eye for street style and design, Cole has earned a solid reputation amongst the vibrant retro community.

Selling on Instagram, his website and flea markets is a full-time job, and his detailed knowledge of sourcing and building connections has positioned his business for success.

Having grown up in the South Bay, Mickey's Deli was often a childhood favorite. When he came across three 1970s Mickey's Deli t-shirts from varying sources, he had to have them framed for his own personal collection.

Word got back to the owner, Paul Mance, and after a phone call, and a shared appreciation for all things South Bay, it only made sense that they ended up back where they came from. Via Vintage Materials, they are now displayed in all their 1970s cool, and just like the Deli, they are the real deal.
