On January 16th, Caballeros del Rancho Palos Verdes celebrated 73 years of serving the Rolling Hills community at their Annual Installation Event. Hosted at The Original Red Onion, the dinner and Board Meeting drew a lively crowd, including members of the City Council, the RHCA Board of Directors, and local residents. The event celebrated the achievements of the past year under the leadership of President Rob Hammond and welcomed incoming President Greg Willis.

In 2024, the Caballeros successfully brought the organization online through Member Planet and saw a boost in event attendance, including at the Installation dinner and Hix BBQ. Building on this momentum, the Caballeros Board plans to host even more events and increase participation in the year ahead.

At the event, Arty Beckler, RHCA Maintenance Supervisor, was honored as the recipient of the 'Caballero of the Year' award. Arty and his team have worked tirelessly to maintain the safety and accessibility of the trail system throughout Rolling Hills. Last year’s heavy rains caused significant damage, including downed trees, debris flows, and washed-out trails. Arty’s quick and effective efforts to clear and repair the trails ensured that all RH residents and their guests could continue to enjoy this important community asset. Arty will be further recognized at the annual Hix BBQ this summer.

Looking ahead, the Caballeros have an exciting lineup of events, including the Pancake Breakfast and the Spring Family Ride. In addition to these annual events, the Caballeros will host additional weekend rides and bring back the popular Poker Ride (& Hike), led by Director Emmeli Bruno. This event promises to be a fun outing for participants of all ages—and their four-legged companions.
