David and Debbie Pinkston have been a vibrant and active part of the Salisbury neighborhood since 2022. Originally from Louisiana, the couple moved to Midlothian in 1990 to be closer to David’s sister LeAnn Tucker and their church community. Their journey to Salisbury began with a connection to Faye and Bob Tucker, 'self-proclaimed Mayor of Salisbury,' and longtime residents who introduced the family to the area.

The Pinkstons were eager to settle in Salisbury to be closer to their daughter Jan and her husband Brant Snead, who live just a few miles away, and David’s parents, who are also in Midlothian. Family is a cornerstone of their lives, and their faith ties them together as they all attend the Richmond Christadelphian Chapel where David, an avid Bible student and teacher, teaches adult classes and speaks regularly. As a retired elementary teacher, Debbie also enjoys volunteering at Richmond Christadelphian Chapel, substitute teaching, and volunteering at Weaver Elementary.

David and Debbie’s love story began in high school when they were introduced by mutual friends. “It was truly love at first sight,” Debbie recalls. "I had just moved to the town where David lived, and I immediately became close friends with a girl who was madly in love with David. We spent hours sitting by the phone, waiting for him to call—but he never did!” In a twist of fate, David’s best friend was interested in the new girl in town, and their friends introduced David and Debbie. “They knew we were meant to be together. They were incredibly supportive of our relationship, even becoming the maid of honor and best man at our wedding,” says Debbie, reflecting on the serendipitous way their paths crossed.

As parents, David and Debbie focus on creating lasting memories with their children, particularly during their summer trips to the Outer Banks and to Disney. “We always try to make sure we’re spending time together as a family, and our summer vacations are a big part of that,” Debbie shares. Their grandson, Wyatt, plays basketball and baseball, and his athletic pursuits are a family affair. “Wyatt plays basketball for Weaver Basketball, and he also plays baseball for both Huguenot Little League and the Richmond Baseball Academy West,” Debbie explains. His dad, Brant, coaches his teams. When Brant suffered a stroke in December 2023, the family was deeply connected and supportive. "It’s been a tough journey, but through prayer and therapy, he’s back to coaching and living life to the fullest."

Outside of sports, Debbie is an active member of the Salisbury Garden Club and the Falkirk Ladies Book Club, while the whole family enjoys the Friday Fiesta events at Wishing Well Park and summer evenings at the ACAC pool. “We love walking through the beautiful neighborhoods of Salisbury and being outdoors whenever we can,” says Debbie.

Looking to the future, the Pinkstons are excited about their upcoming European river cruise, while the Sneads plan for a family trip to London and Paris to explore Christmas markets and Disneyland Paris. "We’ve got big plans ahead, and we can’t wait to experience new adventures together,” David concludes, his voice filled with anticipation.
