From Stray to Stay: Frankie’s Tale
Once upon a time, on a California street,
A girl cat met a boy cat – and was swept right off her feet.
They found her nine weeks later, abandoned and forlorn,
They rushed her to the vet, who saw the litter safely born.
One by one, each kitten was adopted by an owner,
Day by day, the unclaimed mother waited, still a loner.
Until one day when Caro saw the listing, just by fluke,
“We’re adopting her. It’s settled,” she informed her husband Luke.
As the newly renamed Frankie grew accustomed to their flat,
She established her credentials as a most peculiar cat.
While many cats affectionately snuggle in your pouch,
Frankie likes it better on the far side of the couch.
And most cats have a gentle purr, if you listen closely,
But Frankie’s night-time yowling can be heard as far as Moseley.
“I love my life,” thought Frankie, “and nothing could go wrong!”
But then disaster struck: a baby human came along.
With fondness once bestowed on her now callously denied,
She spends her days perched by the door, poised to bolt outside.
So if you find her on the street, please send an urgent text,
But put your anxious mind at ease. No kittens will come next.
