Rick Weber grew up in Cambridge, Ohio, where entrepreneurship started early — mowing lawns, shoveling snow, and fixing phones in college.

Today, he's the owner of Greensboro Home Services, a growing company that helps homeowners across the Triad with pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and professional holiday lighting.

“We want to take the stress out of maintaining your home,” Rick says. “Whether it’s gutter work, pressure washing, or hanging lights, we make it easy to get professional results without having to chase down contractors or do it yourself.”

Although Greensboro Home Services is busy year-round, the holiday season is their most demanding stretch. “November and December are nonstop,” Rick says. “We design, install, maintain, and remove all the lights. Then we store everything until next year. Our customers love not having to deal with the mess or risk climbing ladders in cold weather.”

Rick and his team use commercial-grade materials and customize each setup based on the home and the customer’s preferences. “We use quality lights that hold up through the season. The goal is to make it look clean, professional, and unique to each home,” he says. The company also performs routine checks to ensure everything stays lit — no dark spots during the holidays.

Once the lights come down, the team shifts focus back to their core services: exterior cleaning and maintenance. Gutter cleaning is one of their most requested services. “Clogged gutters can do serious damage to a home if they’re ignored,” Rick explains. “We make sure everything is flowing properly and that the downspouts are clear. It’s simple maintenance that can prevent expensive repairs.”

Pressure washing is another major part of their work. Rick earned a mechanical engineering degree from Ohio University and moved to the Greensboro area for a post-grad position at Goodyear. But even as he worked full time as a tire designer, he was building a different future.

“I’ve always been drawn to running my own business,” he says. “I was DJing in high school and college, and eventually that side hustle turned into a full-time business.”

That company, Fusion Sound and Lighting at FSLevents.com, now serves weddings, corporate events, and private parties across North Carolina. Over the years, it led to several offshoots — including a professional lighting manufacturing business (Both Lighting USA) and, eventually, Greensboro Holiday Lights, which became Greensboro Home Services.

From full-scale wedding day production — including DJ services, lighting design, and special effects — to corporate events requiring professional sound, staging, and video solutions, Fusion Sound and Lighting delivers seamless AV experiences that make every event both memorable and technically flawless.

“Being a DJ taught me a lot,” Rick says. “You’re managing a team, working under pressure, and trying to create a great experience for people. In a lot of ways, it’s not that different from managing a home services company. People want good communication and results they can count on.”

Rick also shares his work — from DJ events to home projects — on several YouTube channels, including DIY home renovation content. “I like showing the behind-the-scenes, especially for people thinking about trying something similar,” he says.

Outside of work, Rick recently celebrated a major milestone — he married his wife Christine last year, on February 24, 2024. The couple enjoys cooking, hosting dinner parties, and relaxing at home with their two dogs, Noel and Ava, who also serve as unofficial mascots for the company.

“We like good food, great drinks, and spending time with friends and family,” Rick says. “It’s a good balance to the fast pace of running businesses.”

Though his schedule stays full, Rick still finds time for hands-on home projects, often putting his engineering background to use. “There’s always something to fix or improve. I actually enjoy it,” he says.
