Get ready to break out your bell-bottoms and platform shoes—Pig Pickin’ 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most fun nights of the year.
Hosted by Family Service of the Piedmont, the annual fundraiser returns on Friday, September 25th at Furnitureland South in Jamestown, with a disco-inspired theme, “Boogie Down and Pig Out,” bringing together great food, live music, dancing, a silent auction, and a chance to support an organization that impacts thousands across Guilford County.
Family Service of the Piedmont serves more than 26,000 individuals each year through programs focused on domestic violence and sexual assault services, child abuse prevention, healthy parenting, mental health, substance abuse, and financial stability.
Lara Heberle met with Sedgefield residents Robin Crosier and Sara Collins, along with Family Service representatives Heather Renshaw and Hali Kohls, to learn more about the organization, the Pig Pickin’ event, and why it is so important to the community and those it serves.
During their conversation, one message became clear: the organization’s impact reaches far more people than many realize.
“Everybody you talk to, even if they themselves or someone in their direct family hasn’t accessed our resources, there’s somebody they know that has, or should have,” said Hali.
The event, now in its 17th year, has become a favorite tradition for many residents throughout Sedgefield, Jamestown, Adams Farm, and surrounding communities.
“We’re going back to having a band,” Robin was excited to share. “We’d love to see 400 to 500 people there this year.”
Guests can enjoy barbecue, sides, dessert, beer, wine, dancing, and a silent auction while supporting Family Service of the Piedmont’s mission.
Heather emphasized, “It’s a fun night. It’s a great deal for a great cause.”
The fundraiser plays an important role in supporting programs. Heather advised that “89 cents of every dollar we bring in to the agency goes directly to programs.”
Family Service also delivers strong community economic impact. Intervention programs reduce court, law enforcement, and incarceration expenses. Mental health and substance use treatment reduce costly emergency and justice system use, while foreclosure prevention helps protect neighborhood home values and preserve long-term community stability.
Sponsorships for Pig Pickin’ 2026 range from $150 (Host Individual) to $10,000 (Champion), offering a variety of ways to support the event.
The Champion level helps fund critical services, including protecting a child at risk of abuse or neglect through a year of in-home support via Healthy Start, plus six months of counseling and family therapy. It also supports enrollment in the Triple P Parenting program, which strengthens parenting skills.
Top Sponsors ($1,000 and above) are invited to attend the Swine Soirée, a pre-event cocktail party.
For Robin, the event is also about connection and the next generation.
“Bring your adult children,” she encouraged. “We need to get our children involved in nonprofit work because they’re the next generation.”
There are many ways to support Pig Pickin’ 2026 beyond purchasing a ticket, including sponsorships, volunteering, donating silent auction items, and helping spread the word.
Whether you’re coming for the music, food, silent auction, or simply a night with friends, Pig Pickin’ 2026 offers a chance to support an important local cause while making memories with neighbors.
So grab your friends, put on your disco attire, and get ready to boogie down and pig out.
