Legendary Coach Rocky Parra Continues Shaping Young Athletes
Arizona Softball Hall of Famer Retired from Hamilton, But His Passion for Coaching Lives On

After over 40 years of shaping Arizona’s youth through softball, Rocky Parra, a beloved figure in the sports community, has retired from coaching at Hamilton High School. At 77, Rocky leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of mentorship and success, including coaching his own daughters to state championships and college scholarships. His impact on the game was recently recognized with his induction into the Arizona Softball Foundation Hall of Fame in August 2024, a testament to his enduring influence.
Though he’s retired from Hamilton, Rocky hasn’t fully hung up his hat. He continues coaching at San Tan Junior High and offers private lessons, ensuring his expertise and passion for softball will continue to inspire the next generation of players. His wife, Beverly, is incredibly proud of his lasting contribution to youth sports, and Rocky’s name will always be synonymous with excellence in Arizona softball.
