Each December, thousands of communities across the nation pause to honor those who gave everything for our freedom. Among them is Bentonville Cemetery, where Wreaths Across America brings neighbors together to REMEMBER the Fallen, HONOR those who Serve, and TEACH our children the value of Freedom.

Melanie Neal, along with her sons Gavin and Sawyer, both Eagle Scouts and familiar faces in Shadow Valley, participate each year with Boy Scout Troop 36. Together, the troop carefully cleans each headstone, places an American flag, and gently lays a fresh wreath before offering a final salute. It is a moment of reverence, respect, and gratitude—one that reminds every participant of the cost of our freedoms.

This December, the Neals encourage their Shadow Valley neighbors to witness or join the tribute. Whether by sponsoring a wreath or volunteering to place one, the simple act of remembrance ensures no hero is ever forgotten.
