Meet Chewy - The Traveling Teddy Pom

Five moves, countless miles, and one unforgettable smile!

If you’ve ever spotted a fluffy little pup with the sass of a movie star and the heart of a best friend, chances are you’ve met Chewy. At 10 years young, this Pomeranian-Teddy Bear mix (his mom was a Shih Tzu–Bichon Frise) has already lived a life worthy of its own travel blog.
Chewy joined his family back in college and has been a constant companion ever since. As part of a military family, he’s been through five moves, taken to the skies on airplanes, sailed on boats, and explored more neighborhoods than most people do in a lifetime. Whether it’s the gentle hum of a plane or the fresh breeze from a boat ride, Chewy’s adventurous spirit shines wherever he goes.
His name is a nod to the Star Wars legend, Chewbacca-not just for the resemblance, but because of the signature growl he uses to “chat” when he wants something. And it’s not just his voice that’s one-of-a-kind; Chewy’s darker ear tips, snow-white “sock” paws, and warm brown eyes make him stand out in any crowd.
Ask Chewy what he wants, and you’ll hear it: the famous Chewbacca growl, often followed by a hopeful gaze toward anything steak or chicken flavored. His “meat guy” preferences are well known in the family, and he’s quick to investigate any scent that promises savory satisfaction.
One of his family’s favorite memories is Chewy’s very first plane ride to Texas. Wide-eyed and fascinated, he sat at the window, watching the world unfold beneath him, completely enchanted.
Since moving to the neighborhood, Chewy has made fast friends-especially Captain, his next-door buddy-and enjoys strolling with his canine sister, Bella. Whether exploring new trails, visiting PetSmart for his quarterly haircut, wandering the Riverside Arts Market, or supervising errands at Home Depot, Chewy is always ready for the next adventure.
If he could choose his own itinerary? Anywhere with friends to meet and, of course, the perfect spot to leave his “signature.”
Here’s to Chewy-our neighborhood’s globe-trotting, meat-loving, sock-pawed explorer.
