The Law Offices of Mark F. Moss, P.A.
Bringing peace of mind, plain language, and a little “Pink Pen Power®” to estate and life planning.
This month, we’re shining our Partner Spotlight on Mark Moss, founder of The Law Offices of Mark F. Moss, P.A., a Jacksonville-based firm specializing in estate planning, probate, and life planning. Mark and his team have built a practice around a simple but powerful idea: planning for the future shouldn’t feel overwhelming, intimidating, or out of reach - it should feel like having someone in your corner.
From Indiana to Jacksonville
Mark is a transplant to Jacksonville, but he happily calls it home. Born in Indianapolis and raised in Carmel, Indiana, Mark knew from an early age that the practice of law was for him. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Indiana University in 2012, with a double minor in Political Science and Sociology.
After graduating, Mark headed south to attend Florida Coastal School of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude, ranking in the top 13% of his class. Along the way, he gained hands-on experience working with a professional sporting association, multiple Florida-based law firms, and global corporations - experience that would later shape the kind of firm he wanted to build.
A Different Kind of Law Firm
The Law Offices of Mark F. Moss, P.A. was founded with one clear goal: to bring peace of mind to people facing some of life’s most stressful legal moments. The firm’s mission is to simplify estate planning and probate with compassion, clarity, and a little bit of “Pink Pen Power®” - the firm’s signature approach to making the complex feel approachable.
After years working in large firms, Mark saw firsthand how overwhelmed clients could feel - and knew there was a better way. He set out to create a law firm that felt human, where people feel seen, heard, and supported, whether they’re planning for the future or settling a loved one’s estate.
Services offered include: estate planning, probate, trust administration and litigation, elder law, special needs planning, guardianship, and guardian advocacy.
What truly sets the firm apart, though, is its approach. “We don’t just help people create estate plans, we guide them through life planning,” Mark explains. “It’s about protecting what matters while you’re here - your people, your values, and your peace of mind.” The firm uses plain language instead of legal jargon, offers real guidance instead of canned templates, and isn’t afraid to bring a little personality into the process.
Turning a Challenge Into a Calling
One of the firm’s biggest challenges is also its biggest motivator: studies show that 76% of adults in America don’t have an estate plan, often because they don’t realize they need one, or assume it’s only for the wealthy or elderly.
That’s why education is at the heart of everything the firm does. “When people are given clear information and compassionate guidance, they’ll take action not out of fear, but out of confidence,” Mark says. Because so many people put off planning, the firm often meets clients during some of the hardest seasons of their lives - which has shaped a practice built on empathy, proactive education, and walking alongside families through the what-ifs and the what-nows. It’s a challenge that’s become the firm’s calling: flipping the script on estate planning by turning it into life planning - something empowering, not overwhelming.
Rooted in Community
For Mark, community isn’t just where he works - it’s who he serves and how he leads. He’s a proud supporter and past Champion of the Year for Best Buddies of Northeast Florida, an organization that creates opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and continues to support the cause through advocacy and partnership. Mark also supports the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville, Making Strides for Autism, and Field of Dreams.
He also serves on the Board of Directors for Riverside Avondale Preservation (RAP) as Governance Chair, sits on the Alumni Board of Directors for Florida Coastal School of Law, and works as a Director Consultant with Business Network International (BNI), helping other small businesses grow through connection and referral. Whether it’s speaking at local events, networking with other professionals, or volunteering, Mark believes in building relationships rooted in service and trust.
Looking Ahead
The firm’s vision is to keep expanding its reach and impact across Florida, growing the team so it can continue meeting families where they are with the same care, clarity, and compassion it’s known for. One project Mark is especially excited about: a library of downloadable resources - guides, checklists, and tools - designed to help people take the first step, even before they ever need to pick up the phone.
“Don’t wait for a crisis to make a plan. Life is unpredictable, but your peace of mind doesn’t have to be.”
That’s Mark’s advice for our neighbors: planning isn’t just about what happens after you’re gone, it’s about protecting what matters while you’re here - your loved ones, your values, your legacy. And while DIY solutions can work for some situations, Mark cautions that mistakes often aren’t discovered until it’s too late.
Outside the office, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, Dana, their two sons, Cooper and Hudson, and the family dog, Remy - whether that’s traveling, spending time at Disney, or simply creating memories together. After all, as the firm likes to say: Because Life Is Complicated Enough®.
