Crafting Dream Homes: Cameron Custom Carries on the Camelot Legacy

Your Name: Cameron “Cammie” Beckert
Your Position: Managing Director
Website: Cameron-custom.com

Can you tell us a bit about the history and mission behind Cameron Custom? Cameron Custom is the custom division of Camelot Homes, my family’s homebuilding company with a 55-year legacy in the Valley. I launched Cameron Custom five years ago in response to growing demand from clients who wanted truly one-of-a-kind homes—built on their own lots, with greater design flexibility and a more personalized experience. At the same time, I saw an opportunity to expand into the ultra-luxury market, where thoughtful design and elevated service are key.

What sets Cameron Custom apart from other luxury home builders in the Valley? It’s the blend of legacy and fresh perspective. My grandfather was one of the first to receive a construction license in Arizona, and our family has been building here for decades. As a woman leading the company today, I bring a different lens—one rooted in collaboration, empathy, and how homes truly function for families. We take on a limited number of homes each year, allowing us to deliver a highly personalized, concierge-level experience that’s hard to replicate.

Are there specific neighborhoods or communities you’re currently building in that you're especially excited about? We’re fortunate to be building in some of the Valley’s most sought-after communities, including Desert Mountain, Whisper Rock, Mirabel, Blackstone, Paradise Valley, Arcadia, McCormick Ranch, Fountain Hills, and right here in Silverleaf. Each location offers something unique, and it’s a privilege to design homes that complement and elevate their surroundings.

How does Cameron Custom approach custom design and personalization for homeowners? We start by understanding how our clients live, what inspires them, and the budget they’re working with. From there, we collaborate closely with their architect and designer—or introduce them to our trusted partners—to guide every
detail. Our role is to ensure the home reflects their vision and lifestyle, while also aligning with the practical realities of construction and investment.

What trends are you seeing in home design right now that buyers are most excited about? Wellness-focused spaces are in high demand—home gyms, saunas, massage rooms, and cold plunges are becoming must-haves. Seamless indoor-outdoor living is still a top priority, with retractable glass walls, courtyards, and covered patios. We’re also seeing more clients request natural textures, earthy tones, and separate casitas for guests or multi-generational living.

As a family-owned company, how has that influenced your business values and client relationships? Being family-owned means every home we build carries our name and reputation. There’s a deep sense of pride and accountability in that. But more than anything, we treat our clients like family. We’re fully invested in their experience, and that relationship often continues long after the home is complete.

What’s one project you’re particularly proud of and why? Our first Cameron Custom home will always stand out. It was the result of years of vision and planning, and it beautifully reflected the client’s lifestyle. The family was an absolute joy to work with, which made the experience even more meaningful and reaffirmed why we do what we do.

How has being part of the Scottsdale/DC Ranch/Silverleaf community influenced your work or inspired your designs? When DC Ranch first broke ground, I was in high school, and my family was one of the original builders. Since then, we’ve built over 500 homes in the community. I’ve personally experienced life here—going from single, to married, to raising a family—with three moves all within DC Ranch. That journey has given me a unique perspective on how homes evolve with the families who live in them and has deeply influenced both our design philosophy and my connection to this community.
