Jeffrey, Carley, and Sali Geller

Carley Piper and Jeffrey Geller moved to the Vail valley in 2018 and into their Singletree home in the spring of 2019. Previously residing in Lake Tahoe, Carley was working in marketing for Vail Resorts at Heavenly & Kirkwood Mountain resorts, and they moved back to Edwards, Colorado as Carley accepted a role with Beaver Creek resort. Jeffrey is a sommelier and has a background in running high-end restaurants; when the two returned to the Valley, he initially took a position managing the Beaver Creek Chophouse, followed by a couple of opportunities at the Sonnenalp Hotel.
Today, Jeffrey is selling wine for Southern Glazer Wine & Spirits to restaurants in Vail and Minturn and Carley is still a brand marketer by trade, contractually helping local business with their marketing needs. The two love living in Singletree, enjoying all the outdoor activities it has to offer with their dog, Sali.
Taking a step back, Jeffrey grew up in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, as the youngest of four siblings. Playing football in high school with his closest brother in age, Jonathan, was his passion. The two, only slightly over a year apart in age, also performed in many school productions together. All the Geller siblings learned to ski at Jack Frost & Big Boulder in the Pocono Mountains spending many weekends on the ski hill. They even enjoyed night skiing. Jeffrey attended Wilkes college in Wilkes-Barre as an English major. Shortly after college, he started his career in restaurants, eventually owning one of his own.
After a few years, he was ready to leave Pennsylvania and try something new. At the time, Jonathan was living in Aspen, CO. Jeffery decided to drive out and visit his brother and quickly made the decision to never return home to Pennsylvania. In fact, he hasn’t lived there since. To this day, the two of them only go back to Pennsylvania to visit Jeffrey’s family in Harrisburg, where is old brother, David, and his family live. His sister, Alisa, and her wife, who currently live in Connecticut, also have family in Harrisburg, so Jeffrey and Carley often get to see them when they travel back east.
Carley is a Colorado native, growing up in Littleton. Carley’s parents purchased a second home in Eagle Vail in 1980, so she and her sister, Dana, learned to ski at Vail and Beaver Creek. Every weekend, the whole family, aunts, uncles, and cousins would head up to the mountain to spend the weekend playing on the hill. During high school, in addition to skiing, she enjoyed playing tennis in the off-season. Carley attended the University of Colorado at Boulder as a Journalism major in Advertising.
She also studied abroad in Wollongong, Australia, and traveled the entire east coast of Australia and spent a month on the South Island of New Zealand. Both are amazing countries, so if you ever need tips on where to go, Carley is always willing to share. Following college, she did a cross-country cycling ride from Seattle to Boston, which took a total of 9 weeks. Nantucket Nectars was a sponsor of the cycling ride, so following the ride, Carley moved to Boston and worked on the mobile marketing team for Nantucket Nectars - driving a large purple Winnebago with a pink juice bottle trailer and a team of three all over the country. Including the cycling ride and mobile marketing team, she has officially been to all 50 states. Following her many adventures, she moved back to Denver to work for an advertising agency.
Carley & Jeffrey met in January 2016 in Aspen, CO. At the time, Carley was working in advertising in Denver and Jeffery as a general manager and sommelier for The Grey Lady in Aspen. Their love for skiing created an instant connection. Jeffrey challenged Carley to hike Highlands Bowl on their second date to secretly see if she could ski it. Challenge accepted! To this day, they often hike the bowl when they visit Aspen.
They dated long distance for over a year when Carley was offered the job with Vail Resorts in Lake Tahoe. Jeffrey agreed to make the move. The two loved the year-round playground, adding paddle boards and kayaks to their repertoire. While in Lake Tahoe, Sali became a member of the family and started joining their adventures. When Vail Resorts offered Carley a position in Beaver Creek, the move back to Colorado was a no-brainer; they returned to the Valley in 2018.
After over six years together, Carley and Jeffrey were married on June 13, 2022, at The Harvest at the Sonnenalp Golf course amongst many friends and family. Not only does the location have a beautiful view of Arrowhead ski resort, but they also love that it is in their neighborhood and a short walk from their home. Following the wedding, they spent 3 weeks in France on their honeymoon, traveling and tasting some of the world’s best wine. Through Jeffrey, Carley has certainly found a love for wine, especially new varietals she has never tried before. Beyond tasting wine, Carley and Jeffrey love to obviously ski, bike, hike, and go camping. Sali loves to join them on backcountry ski adventures and often comes along for the bike rides. She loves the outdoors as much as her parents do.
Travel is amongst Carley & Jeffrey’s favorite things. In October 2024, they took a trip to Playa Del Carmen and last spring, to Napa, California, to taste wine, of course. In July of 2023, they also took a family trip Rome and the Amalfi Coast to celebrate Carley’s parents 50th wedding anniversary. They are manifesting a future trip to Japan in the winter of 2027 to ski and celebrate a milestone birthday for Jeffrey.
If you don’t run into Carley & Jeffrey on the ski hill, you can also find them at some of their favorite bars and restaurants in the valley, La Bottega, La Nonna, Makoto Vail, The Remedy Bar, The Gambit, and Sato Sushi, eating amazing food and of course, enjoying some wine and sake. Two socialites at heart, they look forward to meeting and a good cheer with all their neighbors.
