Happy Mother's Day from our family to yours! Happy May!

They say that April showers bring May flowers, well today is April 10th and what feels like our third winter season just rolled through. But to be fair, I have seen some flowers start to bloom and the robins and cardinals have been making an appearance. I'm also enjoying the company of a ladybug while I type.True signs that spring is on its way.

In May we also celebrate Mother's Day. Here's to all the mothers in our lives - you are beautiful. I wish I could share all of your stories and perhaps over time we can, but for this article I'd like to single out one of the mothers in my world, Aline's Grandma, Beatriz Garcia Da Costa Monnerat, "Beza".
Beza just passed away on April 9th, she was 98 years young and she lived life to the fullest. Beza truly was the Matriarch of the Monnerat family. When Beza was in the room all eyes and ears were focused. You did not want to miss a word she had to say. She just had a way and delivered it always with a twinkle in her eye. And believe me most of what I received was with inflection and tonality followed by an interpretation after everyone was done laughing. She loved to shock everyone and her very presence demanded the attention of the room. Beza was a star in her own movie and it was my absolute fortune to play a very small supporting role.
Due to my laziness I still don't understand too much Portuguese and there was a language barrier of course, but we had a special bond and understanding from day one. You can ask me when you see me about day one if interested, it's a bit too pg-13 for this publication.

I'll never forget you Beza and I firmly believe that you are back in your husband's arms dancing the days away!

Te Amo muito! Para Sempre!
