Ten-year-old Matteo Walker brings imagination to life every single day. A fourth grader at Delphi Academy of Florida, Matteo is known in his neighborhood for his artistic talent and the way he channels his interests into bold, detailed drawings. His work has followed the things he loves most, starting with Sonic, then Ghostbusters, then Mario Bros., and now the world of Nightmare Before Christmas. Wherever his curiosity leads, his pencils and sketchbooks follow.

Matteo’s creativity is more than a hobby. It is shaping his future. He dreams of designing video games with Nintendo because he loves how games combine art, storytelling, and challenge for kids and adults alike. Anyone who has watched him draw can easily imagine him bringing entire digital worlds to life someday.

One of Matteo’s proudest achievements reflects both his talent and his generosity. He created a detailed drawing of Mario defeating Bowser and partnered with a local collector from Toy Cabal to auction the piece online. The drawing sold for one hundred dollars, and Matteo donated the full amount to his school’s art department so his classmates would have more supplies. It was a moment that showed not only his skill but also his heart.

Outside of school, Matteo enjoys spending time with his sister, visiting local parks such as Crescent Lake Park, Crisp Park as well as the Racquet Club of St Petersburg for tennis camp.  He loves exploring the restaurant scene with quite an educated palate- loving the sushi at Sushi Inc, the fried green tomatoes at Stillwater Tavern, the pizza at Bella Brava, and of course we cannot forget his favorite Holiday Peppermint at Kilwins. 

When it comes to food at home, Matteo knows exactly what he likes. Five Guys burgers rate highly, but nothing compares to his mom’s homemade meals. He proudly declares her the best Italian-Sicilian cook around.

Music in Matteo’s world often comes from the soundtrack of The Nightmare Before Christmas, a perfect match for his current artistic inspiration. For vacations, nothing has topped his trip to Epic Universe in Orlando, especially Mario Land, where he felt like he had stepped right into the world he loves to draw.

With his talent, imagination, and generosity, Matteo is a young achiever whose art continues to inspire those around him. Snell Isle is lucky to have a storyteller, world-builder, and artist like him dreaming big right here at home.
