❤️ Valentine’s Day Strawberry Shortcake Cups
A simple, elegant dessert that feels special without being complicated. These individual cups are perfect for sharing with family, neighbors, or a cozy Valentine’s night at home.
Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
For the strawberries
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the shortcake
- 2 cups store-bought pound cake or angel food cake, cubed
For the whipped cream
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Valentine touches
- Dark chocolate shavings
- Heart-shaped sprinkles
- Fresh mint leaves
Instructions
- Macerate the strawberries
In a bowl, gently toss the sliced strawberries with sugar and vanilla. Let sit for 15–20 minutes until juicy. - Whip the cream
Using a hand mixer or whisk, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form. Chill until ready to assemble. - Assemble the cups
In clear glasses or jars, layer:- Cake cubes
- Juicy strawberries
- Whipped cream
- Repeat layers until the glass is full.
- Finish with flair
Top with chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or a mint leaf for a Valentine’s touch. - Serve immediately or chill
Best enjoyed fresh, but can be refrigerated for up to 2 hours.
