Imogen Lobb
At just nine years old, Imogen Lobb, a fourth grader and proud Spaulding Farm resident, is already making waves — literally.
Imogen and her family have lived in the neighborhood for about two and a half years, and from the very first summer in 2024, she dove straight into summer swim with the Spaulding Farm Stallions. What started as a fun way to meet neighborhood friends quickly became something much bigger.
Today, Imogen swims year-round with YSSC in addition to competing each summer with the Stallions. Her favorite stroke? Butterfly — a challenging and powerful stroke that perfectly matches her determination.
One of her proudest moments came at the Classics Swim Meet, where she took first place in the 25 Butterfly. She has also earned MVP for the Girls 8 & Under team two summers in a row — an incredible accomplishment that reflects both her work ethic and team spirit.
Imogen credits her coaches for helping her grow, especially Coach Gracie, whose encouragement made a lasting impact.
While she admits she loves winning, Imogen has learned that swimming is about more than medals. “You can have fun and be successful — and it’s even cooler when you can do both at the same time,” she says. For her, friendship, teamwork, and enjoying the journey matter just as much as the results.
School always comes first, but as long as she’s doing well academically, she keeps pushing herself in the pool. Looking ahead, she hopes to swim as far as her ability will take her — all while having fun and making friends. And one day? She might trade her goggles for a microphone or a gymnastics mat.
Her advice to other young athletes: “Don’t be too serious, but work as hard as you can. Hard work always pays off — and make sure you have fun!”
