2026 Graduates

Lillian Welch

Lillian Welch

I am graduating from St. Joseph’s Catholic School and will be attending University of South Carolina this fall, where I plan to pursue a double major in Psychology and Spanish, along with a minor in Business.
One of my favorite memories from school was being young enough to attend the same school as my little brother, Henry, and feeling so excited every time I saw him in the hallways.
The people who have had the greatest impact on my life are my parents. Their unconditional love, support, and encouragement have shaped who I am. They constantly strive to bring out the best not only in me and my siblings, but in everyone around them. They are truly my biggest inspirations.
The accomplishment I am most proud of is staying true to myself and maintaining my values throughout all of high school.
If I could give advice to younger students, I would tell them to cherish time with their family. Before you know it, move-out day is only a few months away, and you’ll realize just how much those moments mean.
What I’m most excited about for the future is meeting new people, experiencing new opportunities, and embracing whatever life brings my way.
High school has been a roller coaster of memories that helped shape my character and prepare me for the journey ahead.

Kathryn Sims

I am graduating from J.L. Mann High School and will be attending University of South Carolina next year to major in Advertising.
One memory I’ll never forget from my school years is Spirit Week each year. I always loved dressing up for the different themes and participating in all the activities with my friends.
The person who has had the biggest impact on my life is my mom because she constantly pushes me to be the best version of myself and always encourages me to do my best.
One accomplishment I’m especially proud of is earning the cords I’ll get to wear at graduation for my grades and involvement in extracurricular activities.
My advice to younger students would be simple: don’t wait until the last minute to do your homework and projects.
Looking ahead, I’m most excited about experiencing college life and especially attending all the USC football games.
If I had to sum up my high school experience in one sentence, I’d say it was four really fun years spent making memories with my friends.

Francesco Florenzano

I am graduating from Hillcrest High School and will be attending College of Charleston this fall. I plan to study Business while continuing to fly privately, with the goal of one day becoming a commercial airline pilot.
One memory I’ll never forget from high school is all the funny moments spent laughing in class with my friends. While there were certainly serious and meaningful moments along the way, those everyday memories are the ones that stand out the most.
The person who has had the biggest impact on my life is my mom, Courtney Jones. She has always supported my dreams, encouraged me, and been there for me through everything.
The accomplishment I’m most proud of is earning my private pilot’s license. I’ve dreamed of becoming a pilot since I was little, and my mom told me I could start lessons when I turned 13. On my 13th birthday, I flew a plane with an instructor for the very first time. Now, five years later, I have my license, which allows me to fly on my own and even take passengers with me.
My advice to younger students is simple: work hard if you want to succeed. There are no free passes in life, and dedication truly matters.
Looking ahead, I’m incredibly excited to move to Charleston and begin this next chapter of life in college. At the same time, I know it will be a big change, which makes it both exciting and a little nerve-racking.
