It’s so nice to meet you!
Hello! I’m delighted to introduce myself this month: I’m Megan Szerwo, the new owner and publisher of Stroll Spaulding.
The Szerwo family in Seattle
A Seattle native, I've been proud to call Buffalo home since my family moved here in July 2017.
My husband, Brandon, is an accounting professor at UB, which brought us to Buffalo. Our son Michael is a fifth grader at Heim Middle School, where I serve as the PTSA vice president.
The daughter of entrepreneurs, I grew up learning the ins and outs of small businesses, which provided me with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities of working for yourself. I discovered a passion early on for helping small businesses reach new heights with my marketing and communications skillset.
My experience with Stroll dates back to 2014, when I wrote as a regular contributor for our neighborhood magazine in Seattle. In September 2018, I launched Stroll Delaware Park in the City of Buffalo.
As the owner and publisher of Stroll Spaulding, my role is multi-faceted. I have the pleasure of meeting with you — our resident readers — to share your stories while also connecting with local businesses who are interested in reaching you and your neighbors through advertising partnerships.
Outside of work, you'll find me exploring New York with my family, traveling the country, and volunteering with Scouting America.
This magazine wouldn’t exist without the support of our readers and our business partners.
I want to thank our Content Coordinator Kristen Bauer and our regular resident writers for their invaluable contributions to the magazine. I look forward to continuing to work with them.
Please support the businesses you see advertised in this magazine. These businesses have been vetted by me and are partners in this effort. Let them know that you saw their ads here. Thank them for making Stroll Spaulding possible. If you own a business, and you would like to be in front of your neighbors, I would love to connect.
Have you missed the Stroll events over the past year? I’ve got some good news for you: they’re on their way back! Please save the date for our holiday party at the Spaulding Lake Clubhouse on Friday, December 5. In the meantime, I am looking for volunteers to join me on an events committee who will help plan, organize, and execute future reader events. If you’re interested, please contact me.
I would love to connect with you to help share your stories with our community. Find us on Instagram (@StrollSpaulding) for a behind-the-scenes peek into the production of this magazine.
