Playing Catch up with our 2025 Spring Lake Featured Families!

Barclays are HUGE Lions Fans

Before we sprint into another year of resolutions we may or may not keep, we’re hitting “rewind” on the past twelve months in Spring Lake. Our featured families have been busy—celebrating milestones, juggling their kids’ various sports and hobbies, and occasionally remembering where they left their keys! Now they’re back, giving us the scoop on what’s changed, what’s stayed the same, and what they’re ambitiously (or optimistically) planning for 2026. Spoiler: it’s never boring!

The Barclays
We were so grateful for such a wonderful year with our boys! To sum up the year, it was filled with sports, water activities, and now cheering on our Detroit Lions. We made it to Anna Maria twice this year, enjoying jet skiing, deep-sea fishing, the beach, and our family time. We also had a family camping trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes, hiking, throwing the football, swimming in Lake Michigan, and the highlight: a beach campfire with the five of us.
I have to say most of our joy is spent watching the boys do what they love: Shane kicking it with a new Lakeshore Soccer team- scoring his first goal of the season with a header goal! He set the bar high for himself. Quinn is still conquering new PRs with pole vault and competitive swimming, but always makes time to fish.
Cole is putting his heart (and muscle) into his place on the offensive line for the Spring Lake football team. Watching him develop with those boys and SL making the playoffs fills our hearts with so much pride.
Currently, we are in the thick of it for our family fantasy football competition, and let me tell you, it’s a tight one! All of us made our fantasy football names based on the Detroit Lions. Again, it’s been such a busy, high-energy, and often balancing act of a year, but Jerad and I are grateful for every minute of it.

The Quiney Family
We have been keeping busy this fall with a new travel lacrosse team for Gabe. We just got back from a tournament in Delaware, where Team Michigan 29 won the tournament!  Lyla has finished up her senior swim season and has committed to Central Michigan University for next fall to study nursing.  Bailey is a sophomore at Saginaw Valley State University and came home to go to the SVSU vs. GVSU football game. She loves the townhouse she is living in with her college roommates. We are looking forward to 2026 and plan to travel to Punta Cana for Lyla's senior spring break and to the East Coast next summer for more lacrosse!

The Grossenbachers
Jeremy, Sara, Zoe, and Jude had a busy, but fun, fall full of soccer, cheerleading, dance class, & fall fun, including another successful Harvest Festival at Coopersville Brewing Company. They are looking forward to new activities in the new year & are already planning their family trips for 2026!

The Fogel Family
Our Family has had a joyful yet super busy 2025! Jason continues his 24th year as a high school counselor at Allendale HS and leads Rotary Interact’s annual service trip to El Salvador. Bridget is in her 8th year as an Administrative Assistant at SL Intermediate and serves as SLHS Boosters Secretary. Our son, Drew (25), works in Due Diligence at Agree Realty after graduating from Albion College in May 2022. Drew was a part of the Albion Swim and Dive team all four years of college.

Our daughter, Marley (23), graduated from Central Michigan in Elementary Education in May 2025 and is a 1st grade teacher at Sheldon Woods in the West Ottawa School District. Our daughter, Alyssa (19), is studying Accounting at Central Michigan University and plays on the club lacrosse team.

Our youngest daughter,  Calleigh (17), is involved in many clubs and organizations and is on the SLHS Bowling and Lacrosse teams. Calleigh is the Junior Student Council Secretary, involved in the Osteoscholars Organization, and on the Grand Haven Youth Advisory Council. Our dogs, Maverick (9), a German Shorthair Pointer, and Goose (5), a Britney, keep our family lively. We are grateful for faith, family, and the community that surrounds us.

The Duttons
2025 felt like a year filled with growth, creativity, and a lot of heart for our family. Rachelle poured herself into Dutton + Co. Design, shaping spaces across the Lakeshore. JP briefly traveled to Ethiopia for the partnership our church has there. Jonas thrived at Cornerstone and got engaged to Stella, while Levi embraced his first year at Calvin. Together, JP, Jonas, and Levi poured energy into Dutton Hollow—writing new music and playing out in the community. Ezra and Micah kept life bright with artwork, baking, and loving their school and friends. We’re stepping into 2026 hopeful and excited to bring even more creativity to our community.

The Geoghans
The Geoghan family had a busy Fall sports season with Josh coaching Vince's youth football team and Maria playing soccer.  The school year has started off well for both kids, Maria in 7th grade and Vince in 4th grade.  Both kids have begun basketball season, and Cori has started her basketball season as well as the high school girls’ Varsity Coach.  It's going to be a busy Winter, but we wouldn't have it any other way.  Asking the kids what they are looking forward to next year, they both say, "going on spring break with our cousins!"  By the time April rolls around, we will all be ready for some time away with family.

The Kiplings
Our family has had a full and joyful year. Annie (19) is enjoying her sophomore year at Hope College, majoring in psychology, playing lacrosse, and planning to coach a summer lacrosse travel team after doing so this fall. Maddux (17), signed to play baseball at Michigan State University next fall and will graduate from Spring Lake this spring. Chas (14) is enjoying having his dad as his 8th-grade U.S. history teacher and looks forward to baseball, with his dad coaching the Grand Rapids 14U Diamonds. Kip continues to coach 8th-grade basketball, serve as varsity pitching coach, and lead summer ball. Betsy continues cheering everyone on, taking the year, one pitch at a time, whether it’s a baseball pitch, a life pitch, or the curveballs that come with raising three busy teens.

The Sieracki Family
Sieracki's big news since October is that Seton, at age 31, has been sworn into the US Air Force and is awaiting his job to open and his orders to go to boot camp.  We are very proud of him and his decision to serve our country.  By the time the magazine is published, we hope Indiana University (IU) will be the Big Ten Champs and the University of Utah will have made it to the college playoffs. Sebastian and Cass are still enjoying life in the big city, Grand Rapids, but plan to settle down and look for a home in 2026.  Scott and I are hopeful grandchildren are next! Clara the cow, her daughter, and granddaughter are thriving on the Sieracki ranch. The star of the show, Grandma Coors, is enjoying being around family and just living her best life!
