Because of Them

A personal reflection on the women who came before us and the lasting impact their choices still have on our lives and communities.

In addition to one of my favorite times of year, which involves the March Madness Basketball Tournament and filling out those ever-so-frustrating brackets, this month is Women’s History Month. It allows us to step back and recognize the women whose impact often goes unacknowledged yet shapes families, businesses, and communities in lasting ways.

When I reflect on the women who influenced my own life, I think less about titles and more about examples. Women who led with integrity. Who pivoted when necessary and persevered through obstacles.  Like my Grandma, Mother, Sisters, and Girlfriends. Who created stability, opportunity, and progress for others, often at the expense of their own recognition.

As you spend time with this issue of Stroll Spring Lake, I encourage you to reflect on the women who have shaped your life and to consider how we can continue to support and elevate women in meaningful ways.

As always, thank you to the amazing businesses represented in this publication. They are the reason this comes free into your mailboxes each month, and in order to keep this sustainable, we could always use more reputable businesses that want to get in front of our community.  If you own a business and would like more information about partnering with STROLL, contact me (see below). I’d love to hear more about what you do and see if our outreach program could be a good fit!
