Saddle up for a night of western fun! Horace Mann Elementary School’s Annual Spring Benefit and Auction is set for Saturday, April 25th at 7 pm. This year's theme is Home on the Range: Mann Goes West! Guests can expect a lively atmosphere, themed décor and catering, and a lineup of exciting auction items, from family experiences to local favorites to one-of-a-kind class creations. 

The auction is the school’s largest fundraising event, and its success is critical to the operation of Horace Mann Elementary. Whether you’re socializing, bidding, or simply soaking up the cowboy-style fun, the event promises something for everyone. Most importantly, every dollar raised helps ensure a strong, supportive learning environment for Horace Mann students.

 

Horace Mann, the public elementary school for Spring Valley and Wesley Heights, has provided quality public education to children of Washington, DC, since 1931. The school has been recognized as a National School of Excellence four times, an honor that only a dozen schools nationwide carry. Its primary focus centers on the intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs of our community’s children. 

 

We rely on the generosity of our wonderful community, including parents and businesses, to support the programming that makes Horace Mann a most desired school for families across the city. The majority of the PTA’s fundraising dollars go towards providing a Partner Teacher in each classroom. This ensures that our teacher-to-student ratio remains low, thereby providing extra care and learning for our students! This is why fundraising means so much to us as it has a direct correlation to the number of qualified teachers available to support our kids. The PTA also supports a myriad of initiatives, including educational programs such as art and language, professional development opportunities for teachers and staff, classroom enrichment, facility enhancements, and more!
