Dr. Chris and Dr. Tanya Turner are residents of Sterling on the Lake and the owners of Flowery Branch Chiropractic. They met in chiropractic school at Life University. Dr. Chris graduated from Emory University with a pre-dental degree but decided that was not the direction he wanted to go. He joined the Army and served his country for eight years, including service in Desert Storm. Chris had shoulder and sinus issues that chiropractic care helped to relieve, and this resulted in him becoming a chiropractor himself. Similarly, Dr. Tanya sought out care after a car accident and had relief from multiple issues unrelated to the accident, which resulted in a change of career from a nutritionist/personal trainer to a chiropractor.

After graduation, they worked at different offices and decided to move to Sterling in April of 2005 due to the proximity of their employment. They were drawn to Sterling because it reminded them of the community that Chris grew up in, which was also a swim and tennis community on a lake, in Brookhaven. Once they moved into the neighborhood, they fell in love with Flowery Branch and decided to open their own practice in their new hometown! 

Sterling has been a wonderful place to live and raise their two sons — Gregory and Joey. Gregory plans to start Kennesaw in January, and Joey is a senior at FBHS. Joey, who was born shortly after they moved to Sterling, plans to study Engineering and participate in track as he heads to college next fall. Joey is part of the first group to be born and raised in Sterling that is now graduating from High School! Chris and Tanya knew Flowery Branch was the town their boys were going to grow up in, and they wanted to be a part of making it a wonderful place to live. The Turners are members of Prince of Peace and are very involved in their church community. Dr. Chris spent several years as a scout leader, and Dr. Tanya regularly volunteered with the Spout Springs enrichment program prior to COVID-19.

In 2006, the Turners opened Flowery Branch Chiropractic and have been committed to serving the community with quality chiropractic care ever since. They believe a thorough consultation, exam, and X-rays of the area of the complaint will give a better picture of a patient’s situation. They outline a personalized plan to treat patients with chiropractic care (as well as physiotherapy, rehab, Laser therapy, and nutritional advice). There are now four doctors to serve you with specializations in pregnancy, pediatrics, sports injury, geriatrics, and personal injury (car accidents). They have established relationships with doctors and physical therapists in the area to co-manage your care.

Flowery Branch Chiropractic has a strong philanthropic purpose of giving back and serving the community regularly. They donate all first-day fees to charity. Each month an employee chooses a local charity they are passionate about. They are expected to donate over $30,000 this year alone. The last charitable event every year is their annual Christmas drive. It started when their oldest son Gregory was in first grade and wanted to help a friend that was not going to have cupcakes for her birthday. Dr. Tanya spoke with his teacher and found the family would not be able to afford Christmas. Surprised by the number of students that needed help, they started their “Help Santa Save Christmas” annual drive. They have helped hundreds of kids since this event started 13 years ago and hope to help another 100 this year with the community’s help. Patients and businesses can call the office and request a child in this community that needs help. They will be given a child’s wish list. Each child gets a minimum of 3 gifts and an outfit. Most have other needs like shoes, jackets, and even underwear. The Turners hope to complete all lists with the community's help and will use all donations to give each family a grocery store gift card.
