The Famelart Family’s Loyal Duo: Bigfoot and Sonny
Sacha, Jesse, Vero, and Jonathan share their home with two beloved dogs, Bigfoot and Sonny. More than just pets, these two rescues are considered members of the family, bringing warmth, laughter, and a touch of chaos to daily life. Bigfoot (2) and Sonny (3) have become constant companions to the family, filling the home with energy and affection.
Bigfoot came from SPACAR, while Sonny was adopted from a rescue in Oregon. Sonny’s story began when his pregnant mother was picked up in Texas, and he eventually made his way north before joining the family. Both dogs have settled comfortably into their roles as part of the household.
The name Bigfoot carries a bit of history. Before adopting him, the family found an abandoned black dog in their neighborhood. The dog’s long legs earned him the name Bigfoot, chosen by the boys. At the time, the family couldn’t keep him, and a neighbor adopted him instead. Later, when they were ready to adopt, the boys chose a similar black dog at SPACAR and gave him the same name, keeping the memory of the first Bigfoot alive.
Each dog has his own personality. Bigfoot is known for his helpful instinct, often trying to pull the kids out of the pool if he thinks they are splashing too much. Sonny, on the other hand, is easygoing and loves to travel. He enjoys car rides, overnight trips, and simply being wherever the family goes.
Life with two large dogs means the occasional challenge. The family often jokes about missing items, as both dogs have a habit of helping themselves to things left unattended. One memorable moment involved a batch of muffins: eight of the twelve vanished without a trace, leaving no crumbs behind.
Despite the mischief, Bigfoot and Sonny are deeply loved and treated as part of the family. They are included in daily routines, family activities, and plenty of relaxation time. Both have brought joy, entertainment, and companionship to the household.
Through their playful nature and loyalty, Bigfoot and Sonny have become central figures in the home, reminding everyone that rescue pets often bring more love and character than anyone expects.
