From Garage Studio to Growing Business

Inspired during the pandemic, Nick White discovered a passion for painting that now blends sports, creativity, and community spirit — all from his garage studio in Stone Canyon.

After just one year of living in Stone Canyon, Nick White has established himself in the community with his unique and bold art style. Known for his stencil-based paintings of sports figures, celebrities, and high-impact visuals, Nick has transformed a hobby into a growing business from the comfort of his own garage studio.

Nick’s interest in painting began in 2020, inspired by the work of sports artist Blake Jamieson and his custom designs on Topps baseball cards. What started as curiosity quickly turned into a creative outlet during a time when many were looking for something positive to focus on. He began experimenting with stencils and techniques, building his skills through trial and error. Over time, the passion grew, and he now creates striking pieces that appeal to both sports fans and art collectors.

His work is characterized by clean lines, bold color palettes, and thoughtful composition—skills he credits in part to his time studying architectural engineering at Oklahoma State University. During his studies, Nick spent several years in design studios alongside architecture students, an experience that shaped his visual approach and his attention of layout and balance.

Painting is both a personal outlet and a professional pursuit for Nick. He finds fulfillment in transforming concepts into tangible pieces that others can enjoy in their homes or collections. His work has been well received, and he now offers original artwork, prints, and commissioned pieces. Nick is particularly eager to connect with fellow Stone Canyon residents and even plans to offer neighbors discounted rates on custom work.

In addition to creating for clients, Nick is also using his art to give back. Recently, he approached Skiatook Paws & Claws Animal Rescue (SPACAR) with a proposal to create custom pet portraits, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the rescue organization. SPACAR, which provided Nick and his family with their two dogs, Violet and Poppy, is currently reviewing the idea. Regardless of the outcome, he intends to offer the portraits to SPACAR alumni and continue supporting the organization’s efforts.

Beyond his own garage, Nick is looking to expand the reach of his work. He hopes to connect with professional athletes, influencers, and sports venues that align with his artistic themes. One of his goals is to display artwork at pro shops or sports-related spaces, offering original pieces that not only decorate but also connect with customers through a shared appreciation for sports and visual storytelling.

Nick lives with his wife Erin, their two-year-old son Nolan, and their three-month-old daughter Ava. Along with their two rescue dogs, the family has quickly become a part of the Stone Canyon community. Whether working on commissions, building partnerships, or simply creating for the love of the process, Nick’s passion for painting continues to grow, and so does his vision for where it can lead.
