Tanya Pepin
With 14 years of experience in education, Tanya Pepin has dedicated her career to nurturing the minds and hearts of young learners. Now serving as Director of Guts Early Learning Program, Tanya is entering her second year in the role, continuing her commitment to faith-based, developmental education for children from 8 weeks old through 1st grade.
Guts Early Learning Program operates Tuesday through Thursday, offering a God-centered, hands-on approach to learning. The program is intentionally designed to support both spiritual and developmental growth in a loving, supportive environment. Tanya’s leadership has been marked by consistency, care, and a clear focus on helping children build strong foundations during their most formative years.
Before joining Guts, Tanya held teaching and librarian positions at two other Christian schools. At Lincoln Christian School, she taught 2nd grade and worked as an elementary librarian. She later served as an elementary librarian and Pre-K teacher at Rejoice Christian School. These varied experiences provided her with a well-rounded perspective on early childhood education and reinforced her belief in the importance of building strong spiritual and academic foundations from a young age.
Tanya’s decision to pursue a career in education was rooted in a lifelong passion for working with children. Early jobs in babysitting and summer camps confirmed for her that children are not only a joy to be around but also one of life’s greatest blessings. Her career path has allowed her to do what she loves most—play a meaningful role in children’s growth across spiritual, emotional, and developmental domains.
Her approach to leadership and teaching is deeply personal. Tanya often frames decisions through the lens of parenthood, asking herself how she would want situations handled if her own children were involved. This mindset brings empathy, intention, and consistency to her daily interactions and long-term planning for the program.
Even during the summer months, Tanya stays active in her role. Guts Early Learning Program runs a six-week summer session, extending the opportunity for continued learning and development. Still, she carves out time between sessions to travel with her family.
Outside of her role in education, Tanya has a few surprising and lesser-known experiences. She and her husband once appeared on HGTV’s The Endless Yard Sale, an experience that often catches people off guard. She also has a hidden talent for decorating and enjoys treasure hunting at thrift and consignment shops, combining creativity with resourcefulness.
If given the opportunity to take her students anywhere in the world, Tanya would choose the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Known as the largest children’s museum globally, its emphasis on learning through play mirrors her own educational philosophy. She sees exploration, creativity, and active engagement as key to fostering a love of learning; an approach she strives to model in every aspect of the program she leads.
Tanya’s work at Guts Early Learning Program reflects her long-standing dedication to Christian education and child development. With a clear purpose and years of experience behind her, she continues to invest in the next generation with care, conviction, and joy.
