I have long had a love affair with Spain. I have always felt welcomed and comfortable there. That I speak adequate Spanish probably helps as well. I spent most of May in Barcelona. They say that is the best month of the year to visit, and I agree. The weather is perfect, the people are friendly, and the sites are truly spectacular. From Sagrada Familia to Parc Güell to the Gothic Quarter and Palau de la Musica (concert hall), it seemed like every daily adventure was better than the day before. I stayed near the city center not too far from Las Ramblas. Barcelona is a feast for the eyes and the taste buds as well. I highly recommend it.
