Spooky Sisters!

Boo! Did we spook you? Welcome to Halloween in Edinburgh. This month’s Kid to Kid is all about tricks, treats, and traditions! Our featured Writer Maeve Engelerdt was thrilled to connect with the Turley girls and discuss why they love halloween in Edinburgh.

Meet the Turley Sisters, Remy, 10, and Rooney, 6. These cuties have plenty to say about being sisters—and Halloween! Here’s what they shared:
What’s your favorite memory of being sisters?
Remy: Our family trip to Los Angeles.
Rooney: All the times we gave each other piggyback rides!

What’s your favorite part of Halloween?
Remy: Costumes and dressing up. I also love being with my friends.
Rooney: The candy!

Do you have a Halloween that stands out the most? Why?
Remy: Last year—or maybe the year before—it was so hot that all our candy melted before we even got home!
Rooney: The one where people were shooting off fireworks!

Favorite and least favorite Halloween candy?
Remy: My favorite is Nerds gummy clusters; my least favorite is Twizzlers.
Rooney: Reese’s Pieces are my favorite, and plain Hershey bars are my least favorite.

Would you rather spend the night in a haunted house or have a zombie spend the night at your house?
Remy: A zombie—one scary thing is easier than a haunted house full of them!
Rooney: Definitely a zombie! Haunted houses have ghosts that can control things—they’re super spooky.

Have you ever had a trick pulled on you instead of getting a treat?
Remy: One house had a basket, and instead of candy, a creepy hand reached out at you!
Rooney: Not really.

Do you have a favorite house for trick-or-treating?
Remy: The houses near ours and the ones with king-size candy bars!
Rooney: I like my friend Penelope’s house!

These sisters clearly have Halloween all mapped out, ready to go door to door in search of the best treats. Thanks to the Turley family for sharing their spooky fun with Edinburgh’s goblins and ghouls. Happy Halloween!
