Our mission at OC Learning Edge is to encourage and inspire young people as they pursue their educational goals. We encourage a love of learning, promote growth mindsets, and provide children the tools they need to achieve by providing excellent tutoring, enriching programs, and individualized assistance.
At OC Learning Edge, we provide academic classes in Phonics and Beginning Reading Skills, Reading Comprehension, Writing Composition, Mathematics, Spanish, and Cursive Handwriting. Additionally, we offer Homework Help and Homeschool Support. Services are offered both in-person and online instruction tailored to private, semi-private, or small group settings. Teaching PreK through Sixth Grade is not only our specialty but also our passion!

ABOUT THE OWNER: Jacqueline Micallef is a certified educator with over 30 years of experience teaching preschool and kindergarten. She earned her B.A. in Child and Adolescent Studies, with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, from California State University, Fullerton, and her M.A. in Leadership in Early Childhood Education from Brandman University.
Jacqueline is passionate about nurturing a love of learning, designing state-aligned curricula, and supporting students from preschool through the elementary years, including children with exceptional needs. She employs a multisensory teaching approach, recognizing that children learn most effectively when multiple senses are engaged.
Known for setting high expectations, Jacqueline partners closely with students and families to help each child reach their fullest potential. Her goal is to ensure every student leaves her program equipped with the skills, confidence, and joy needed for a successful transition to their next grade level.
In addition to teaching, Jacqueline provides consultation services for families, offering personalized strategies to help students overcome academic challenges.
Jacqueline lives in Irvine with her daughter, Juliana, who is pursuing a degree in sound engineering. Her son Thomas is a U.S. Air Force veteran and engineer at Northrop Grumman who will soon begin his MBA at UCLA, and her son Jacob is currently serving as an Airman in the U.S. Air Force in Japan after earning his degree in Computer Science.
