Parade of Support

How Sugar Mill Pond neighbors showed up for one of their own in true Mardi Gras fashion.

Greg Young, a longtime Sugar Mill Pond resident, entrepreneur, and mentor, has built a career around leadership, resilience, and helping others take bold steps forward. When he shared his idea to film a Mardi Gras–inspired promo for his new business book, Ain’t Nothin’ for a Steppa, neighbors responded exactly as you’d expect. They jumped in wholeheartedly.

On the day of filming, neighbors showed up at Palfrey Park dressed in their best Mardi Gras attire, ready to parade the park as Greg promoted his book. Laughter echoed, beads bounced, and familiar faces filled the scene as neighbors became the supporting cast. It wasn’t about being on camera or promoting a product. It was about showing up, having fun together, and rallying behind a neighbor’s dream.

Moments like this are what make Sugar Mill Pond special. Neighbors cheering on a neighbor, saying yes without hesitation, and turning a simple idea into something meaningful together. Greg may have been promoting a book, but what was really on display was the heart of this community, neighbors supporting neighbors.
