From the Bahamas to Hogwarts
Maddox David shares the ultimate adventure from his Disney Cruise to the Bahamas and a spellbinding visit to Universal’s new Epic Universe, complete with wands, water slides, and a whole lot of magic.
Where did you travel?
Disney Cruise to the Bahamas and to Universal Studios and the new Epic Universe.
What inspired you to go there?
My Mom and Dad surprised us and told me one day about a Disney cruise, and she told me about EPIC Universe, and that there was a Harry Potter World and How to Train Your Dragon, and I was sold from that moment!
What did you do there?
We first took a road trip from Louisiana to Florida and left on a cruise ship to two islands in the Bahamas. On the ship, one of the most memorable and fun things we did was the Aqua Mouse. It was an amazing Water Coaster on the cruise ship that went super fast with cartoons and lights! It was super cool. Disney Wish was amazing!
In the Bahamas, I loved biking, swimming in the super‑blue water, and eating tons of ice cream. The Aladdin show was awesome, the fireworks on Pirate Night were so cool, and I loved hanging out on the balcony with my family watching the ocean. The kids' clubs had lots of games and Marvel-themed fun and activities all day. It was cool to see my little brother so happy; he got to meet Spider-Man, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy, and Pluto.
Then at Universal's Epic Universe, we went to all of the Harry Potter Worlds, and riding the Hogwarts Express train back and forth between them felt like we were really in the movies. I got to use Harry's wand and make things move in the windows, so cool! Hagrid’s Motorbike ride was my favorite; it felt so fast and wild. And in the Isle of Berk from How to Train Your Dragon, it really felt like I was in the movie. All the cool dragons, rides, and I also got to hang out with Toothless. It was all so awesome, I didn’t want any of it to end!
What did you enjoy most and why?
I really loved the Aqua Mouse Coaster. The Harry Potter Worlds really felt like I was in the movie. All the rides were awesome. Also, the Isles of Berk in How to Train Your Dragon's world was so amazing from the shows, to the rides, and the dragons and characters.
Recommendations for your neighbors if they travel there?
You absolutely should go on a Disney Cruise because it has so many cool, fun activities for the kids and for my Mom and Dad, too. And The New EPIC Universe is a must! We had so much fun! Also, you must get a FastPass in EPIC Universe because the lines go super duper fast with it!
