Our latest Stroll Sugar Mill Pond Neighborhood Night Out was one to remember, thanks to the warm hospitality of Half Shell Oyster House. Residents gathered for an evening of delicious food, great company, and the kind of lively atmosphere that makes Half Shell such a standout.

Since opening its doors in 2008, Half Shell has grown to 15 locations across Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana, including right here in Lafayette. The concept was born from a desire to offer phenomenal dining with a Southern menu and a New Orleans flair, all in a French Quarter–inspired setting. With exposed brick, stained glass, antique doors, and the sound of jazz in the background, it’s the perfect spot to relax while enjoying fresh seafood and classic dishes.

That atmosphere paired beautifully with our gathering. Neighbors enjoyed everything from oysters to signature entrées, while reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. The service was outstanding, the food was exceptional, and the sense of community was on full display.

We’re grateful to Half Shell Oyster House for their generosity in hosting and to all our residents and business partners who joined us. Evenings like these remind us that Sugar Mill Pond is more than just a neighborhood—it’s a family.
