Growing Up in Summerfield
Meet Landon and Dakota Snyder of Avian Way

Some neighbors may remember the Snyder family as one of the very first families featured when the neighborhood publication launched. At the time, Landon and Dakota were much younger. Now, a few years later, these Avian Way siblings are growing up fast and filling their days with activities, imagination, and big excitement for their next Disney adventure.
Landon, age 7, is a first grader at Court Street Elementary, while his little sister Dakota, age 3, attends BrightPath UPK3. They live on Avian Way with their parents, Dean and Melissa, and their Labrador retriever, Knox.
Like many siblings, Landon and Dakota each have their own personalities and favorite ways to spend their time.
For Landon, fun often means a little friendly competition at home.
“My favorite thing to do right now is beat Mommy at Mario Kart on my Nintendo Switch,” he says.
When he’s not racing around Rainbow Road, Landon enjoys building Lego creations and recently began his second year of Taekwondo at Master Chong’s World Class Taekwondo, where he’s currently a Little Tigers white belt with a red stripe.
Dakota, on the other hand, loves all things sparkly and magical.
Her favorite activity is playing dress up in princess dresses and jewelry, and she enjoys spending time with her princess dolls. She recently started her first year of dance at Lancaster Dance Center, where she takes both tap and ballet classes.
When it comes to entertainment, the siblings have some classic favorites.
Landon’s top movie pick is The Super Mario Bros. Movie, while Dakota loves The Little Mermaid.
And when it comes to laughter, each sibling credits a different parent.
“Mommy makes me laugh the most,” Landon says.
Dakota quickly points to Dad as the funniest in the family.
When asked about their favorite holidays, their answers were just as enthusiastic.
For Landon, Christmas takes the top spot because “Santa brings my favorite toys.”
Dakota’s favorite is Halloween, when she gets to dress up and collect “ALL the candy!”
But right now, the biggest excitement in the Snyder household is their upcoming family trip to Disney.
This will be the family’s fourth visit to the most magical place on earth, and both kids already have their ride plans ready.
Landon is especially excited for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, while Dakota can’t wait to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure now that she’s finally tall enough.
Between video games, dance classes, martial arts, and Disney dreams, life for Landon and Dakota is full of fun, laughter, and plenty of adventures.
And as they continue growing up in the neighborhood, one thing is clear: the Snyder family is still creating magical memories together.
