Hazel and Ellie Wild may be just a year apart in age, but together they bring double the energy, creativity, and determination to the neighborhood.

Hazel, age 8, is a third grader at Sciolé who describes herself as funny and kind, and it shows in everything she does. She loves to sing, read books, and shop at Sephora, and when it comes to winding down, Bluey tops her TV list because it always makes her laugh.

Hazel stays busy with soccer and dance, especially Acro and Jazz. Acro is her favorite thanks to her love of bridges and flexibility. Music is another big part of her world. She admires Freya Skye because she is only 16 and has an amazing voice, and also enjoys listening to Sabrina Carpenter, Kane Brown, and Taylor Swift. While she does not formally play an instrument, she likes to experiment on a keyboard just for fun.

One of Hazel’s favorite memories is taking a Disney Cruise with her family, where she loved the views from the ship. She has even met a few famous faces, including Stefon Diggs and Joe Andreessen at her school. This year’s biggest challenge is state tests, but Hazel has big dreams beyond that. When she grows up, she hopes to become both a singer and a teacher, and she is also hoping her family will someday welcome a Bichon Frisé puppy.

Her sister Ellie, age 9, is a fourth grader at William Street School and shares many of Hazel’s interests along with a few of her own. Ellie loves Zombies 4 for the music and singing and enjoys listening to Freya Skye, Taylor Swift, and music from K Pop Demon Hunters.

Ellie is deeply involved in sports, playing soccer on offense and participating in Jazz and Acro dance, where back bends are her favorite. She is also about to start lacrosse in just a few weeks. Music is important to her too, and this year she took on a new challenge by learning to play the flute, something she admits is tricky as she learns to switch fingers smoothly.

When she is not practicing or performing, Ellie loves singing along with Alexa, rollerblading, and writing creatively. In fact, she enjoys creative writing so much that she has started writing her own songs. A lover of animals, especially koalas, Ellie dreams of growing up to be both a singer and an athlete.

Like Hazel, Ellie’s favorite vacation was a Disney Cruise, where snorkeling in the Caribbean Sea and enjoying the buffet food made it unforgettable. She has also met Stefon Diggs, Dawson Knox, and Joe Andreessen.

The Wild sisters have lived in the neighborhood for nearly five years, and whether they are dancing, singing, playing sports, or dreaming big, one thing is clear. Hazel and Ellie are just getting started.
