Q&A
Q: Why not open the gates earlier than 8am?
A: This allows time for the early morning school rush to subside — including space for school buses to run their routes without added congestion.

Q: I’m not selling — why should I care?
A: Even if you’re not selling, you might score great deals right in your own neighborhood. Plus, it’s a short-lived event — the heaviest traffic is between 8am–12pm, and it’s usually cleared out by 2pm.

Q: Can I sell on Sunday, too?
A: Nope. Official sale days are Friday and Saturday only. Part of the success of this event is that it’s concentrated into two days — spreading it out waters down the crowd and creates confusion for shoppers.

Q: I don’t have much to sell — is it worth participating?
A: Absolutely. Partner with a neighbor, friend, or family member to combine your items. A bigger selection means a busier table and more sales.

Q: What if it rains?
A: The sale is rain or shine — but you can set up inside your garage or under a canopy to keep items (and yourself) dry. Shoppers will absolutely still show up in light rain.

Q: Do I have to price everything?
A: No. Some sellers prefer to price big-ticket items and leave smaller things unmarked to encourage conversation (and haggling). Others prefer everything priced for faster transactions. Your sale, your choice.

Q: Who advertises the sale?
A: Sam will post to Craigslist, local Facebook sale groups, and we’ll have large signs along 377 and near the YMCA. But the more each seller promotes individually, the bigger the turnout for everyone.

Q: Why do we allow outside shoppers at all?
A: Because without outside shoppers, most of us would be selling to…well…ourselves. The extra foot traffic is what makes these sales profitable and helps people clear out big volumes of items in just two days.
