Some passions announce themselves early. For Sidney Robertson, it happened when she was just 5 years old.

She picked up one of her dad's golf clubs, took a swing, and immediately caught his attention. He wasn't just watching a little girl playing around, he was watching a remarkably natural swing that hinted at something special. That first swing sparked a journey that would eventually take Sidney from Tyler to some of the most celebrated golf courses in the country, and now, to the top of collegiate golf.

As Sidney's love for the game quickly grew, so did her family's vision for her future. The Robertsons chose to move to The Cascades because of its incredible golf course and the opportunity for Sidney to attend All Saints Episcopal School. It proved to be the perfect place for a young golfer to develop her talent.

At The Cascades, Sidney spent countless hours practicing, learning, and competing. The club's golf community embraced her from the very beginning, encouraging her as she grew from a promising young player into one of East Texas' top golfers. Members followed her progress, celebrated her successes, and became some of her biggest supporters. The course became more than just a place to play, it became home.

At age 7, Sidney joined the First Tee of Greater Tyler, where she continued developing both her game and her love for the sport. By the time she was 8, she was already competing in junior tournaments, beginning years of competition that would take her across the country.

Long before graduating high school, Sidney had already played legendary courses that many golfers only dream of visiting. Pinehurst, Torrey Pines, and Pebble Beach all became part of her story before she even turned 18.

Back home, Sidney built an incredible high school career at All Saints Episcopal School, winning three TAPPS 4A individual state championships. Her success earned her a scholarship to Dallas Baptist University, where she has continued to raise the bar.

She made an immediate impression at DBU. In her very first travel event as a freshman, Sidney fired an incredible 8-under-par 64, setting the lowest round in Dallas Baptist women's golf program history.

Now entering her junior year, Sidney has already helped Dallas Baptist capture back-to-back NCAA Division II National Championships in 2025 and 2026. This past season, she also earned Second Team All-Conference and All-Region honors, adding more milestones to an already remarkable résumé.

Earlier this summer, Sidney and her teammates returned from a 10-day mission trip to Scotland, where they served local communities while also having the opportunity to play some of the most historic golf courses in the world. For someone who grew up playing at The Cascades, it was an unforgettable experience and another reminder of where the game has taken her.

While the championships, records, and accolades are impressive, Sidney's story is really about dedication, perseverance, and the people who believed in her from the beginning. It's about parents who invested in a dream, coaches and mentors who helped shape it, and a community that has celebrated every milestone along the way.

From a little girl with a natural swing to a two-time NCAA Division II National Champion, Sidney Robertson continues to represent Tyler with grace, humility, and determination. The members of The Cascades have watched her grow up on their course, and today they have every reason to be proud to call her one of their own.
