Sara Labus
A pharmacist, community leader, and world traveler making a meaningful impact right here in The Colonies
Meet Sara Labus! She has been a Colonies resident since May 2015. Sara brings a blend of professionalism, community service, and personal passions to our neighborhood.
Sara is originally from the Amarillo area. Upon graduation from Randall High School, she pursued her pharmacy prerequisites at Oklahoma State University before returning home to complete her Doctorate of Pharmacy at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2015. She currently works as a retail pharmacist here in Amarillo. Additionally, Sara is an adjunct faculty member at the Jerry Hodge School of Pharmacy. The dedication to her profession is matched by her commitment to providing exemplary care to her patients.
In addition to her pharmacy work, Sara serves as a Randall County Republican Party Precinct Chair for the Colonies, displaying her active engagement in local politics. Also, Sara is an active member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the Texas Pharmacists Association (TPA) and High Plains Republican Women’s (HPRW).
Recently, Sara was appointed to the board for the Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation (TPHF) which oversees the Texas Outdoor Musical. Previously, Sara was in two seasons of the play in 2001 and 2002. She attributes some of her favorite childhood memories of being involved in the production. Sara encourages the community to go see Texas this summer due to the show will be celebrating its 60th season in the Canyon. The show not only preserves the rich history of the Texas Panhandle but also draws tourists near and far.
When she is not working as a pharmacist or engaged in political events, Sara spends her time in various hobbies. As an avid traveler, she recently went on an international trip to Dubai and South Africa. Sara went on eight safaris and went to Victoria Falls, one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Also, Sara has done some Rio Grande turkey hunting in her spare time.
Sara is a proud dog mom to her two fur babies, Jaxx and Newt. Jaxx, an 8-year-old toy Australian Shepherd, and Newt, a 3-year-old miniature Australian Shepherd, are a bundle of joy and energy. They are always up for a game of fetch and ready to play ball 24/7!
In Sara’s free time, she enjoys hosting friends and family along with attending music concerts. Her musical taste is diverse. Sara has been to many concerts, including Coldplay, Lionel Richie, Jack Johnson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder, and various others. Most recently, she saw the Backstreet Boys in Las Vegas.
