The class of 2024 is a class to remember, especially for their proud parents and loved ones. Stroll the Hill Section is honored to recognize these fantastic young residents. We wish them a happy and bright future.
Bridget Ballantine graduates from Mira Costa and heads to San Diego State University this fall. She competed on the Girls Tennis Team all four years, serving as captain her senior year. She also coached youth tennis. Receiving the Principal’s Honor Roll and Scholar Athlete Awards every semester of high school, Bridget is passionate about all things STEM and looks forward to pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering. She interned at Boeing, focusing on satellite technology. Her family beams with pride, wishing her much success ahead.
Callia Boren cherishes her high school memories at Mira Costa. Engaging in Model UN for four years, she gained global insights. Contributing to Costa's Ethnic Studies Council, she helped develop a new mandatory course. Serving on Congressman Ted Lieu’s Youth Council, she relished political discourse. Callie heads to the University of Michigan, eager to major in Social Theory and Practice and embrace Ann Arbor's adventures and game days.
Jacob Brown graduates from MCHS, where he was an active member of the Friendship Club. He discovered his passion for helping through Amigos Unidos, earning three Presidential Service Awards. He was named Volunteer of the Year by the Friendship Foundation for his Skechers Walk fundraising. Jacob heads to Indiana University, Bloomington, to study Marketing. Go Hoosiers!
Sophia Delino graduating from MCHS, served as Vice President for three years, then as the ASB Vice President in her senior year. She served as Costa’s student delegate on the Manhattan Beach Unified School District Board. A dedicated athlete, Sophia excelled on the Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team for four years, serving as team captain her senior year. With six years in the National Charity League, she volunteered for many philanthropies. Sophia eagerly anticipates studying nutritional science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo this fall.
Izzy Dubinsky, graduating from MCHS, excelled in volleyball as a scholar athlete. With numerous academic honors, he's a member of CSF and NHS. Having attended Robinson Elementary and MB Middle School, he cherishes his hometown and friends. Izzy eagerly anticipates studying at the Fowler School of Business at San Diego State in the fall, and his family is so proud and excited for his next chapter!
Wyatt Edwards graduates summa cum laude from MCHS, excelling in academics and athletics as a scholar water polo athlete and National Honor Society member. He mentors youth at Los Courage Camps, works at Grow, and enjoys skiing and golf. Heading to University of Wisonsin Business School for Real Estate, Wyatt is deeply rooted Manhattan Beach as a 3rd generation resident. His family is very proud of him and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors!
Christopher Fire completed his studies at Mira Costa High School, where he excelled in both Varsity and club Soccer, showcasing his athletic prowess. Additionally, he actively contributed to the philanthropic organization Amigos Unidos. During his leisure time, Christopher indulges in his passion for golf and enjoys listening to music. His next academic endeavor will be pursuing a business education at The University of Arizona's Eller School of Business.
Ezra Gedion graduated from Mira Costa High School. At Costa, he earned numerous academic, scholar and athletic awards and served as the founder/President of Pitch club. He also participated in various activities including orchestra, robotics, basketball, golf, aerospace and Link Crew. This Spring he will be competing in the team CIF playoffs for Boys Varsity Golf. Ezra will attend UCLA this Fall to study engineering.
Hunter Gregory, new MCHS grad, excelled in water polo all 4 years as the team’s goalie. A dedicated member of Amigos Unidos, he received annual awards including the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. He volunteered with the Jimmy Miller Foundation, empowering kids in the ocean, and he founded the Mira Costa BBQ Club, creating lasting memories with friends. Hunter heads to Wake Forest University to study Engineering and Philosophy.
Jack Phillips graduates from Mira Costa High School this month. While at Costa, Jack has been on the indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, lacrosse, and football teams. Outside of school he likes to surf, snowboard, mountain bike, and skateboard. Jack will be studying business at Texas Christian University (TCU).
Frances Ryan graduates from Mira Costa and heads to UCLA this fall. A 10-year Irish Dancer, Frances medaled at World Championships and competed internationally as a céilí dancer, 7 years as a soloist. As a 4-year member of the National Honor Society and California Junior Scholarship Federation, Frances is an avid philanthropist, volunteering in the South Bay. She is excited to be a Bruin!
Julia Wilmarth is graduating from Mira Costa High School. While there, Julia earned several academic honors and is a part of the National Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation. Also, during the last 4 years she participated in the philanthropic organization Sandpiper Juniors. Next year Julia plans to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a major in construction management.
