The Braibanti Family
Chrissy, Mark, Ella & Lucy – and the Boxers!
Hi there! We’re Chrissy (41) and Mark (41), and we’re so happy to be part of this wonderful neighborhood. I (Chrissy) was born and raised in Brentwood, LA, and I’m a third-generation Angeleno. I’m a school social worker in the Santa Monica and Culver City school districts, and my great-grandfather, Senator Orrin Hubbell, moved to California in the 1880s to serve as a senator.
Mark, originally from Washington, D.C., moved to California nearly 20 years ago, drawn by his love of skateboarding. He started out in Long Beach before settling in Santa Monica, where he co-founded ParkMe, a tech startup, with mutual friends who also introduced us. He now works as the CMO of a Seattle-based transportation analytics company and remains a diehard Washington Commanders football fan.
We have two daughters, Ella (9) and Lucy (6). Ella is a creative spirit who loves art, knitting, and sewing—she’s even started making her own stuffed animals! Lucy is a fearless little adventurer, always climbing on something and eager to take on new challenges.
Our family wouldn’t be complete without our two boxers, Marshmallow (4 years old) and Cocoa (5 months old), who keep us entertained with their playful antics and love of beach runs.
Our Journey to Manhattan Beach
After spending a decade in Playa Vista, we moved to Manhattan Beach and couldn’t be happier. The friendly neighbors, beautiful coastline, and vibrant community made us feel at home right away.
Family Fun & Passions
We’re big on sports—skiing, golf, and football are family favorites. Ella is in her second year of softball and also loves skateboarding and skiing. Lucy, meanwhile, has taken to tennis, jiu-jitsu, and horseback riding with her usual fearless energy.
Mark and the kids love skateboarding, while I’m passionate about snorkeling and spending as much time in nature as possible.
Celebrating Special Moments
We love celebrating milestones with memorable experiences. Trips to Alisal Ranch in Santa Ynez for horseback riding and golf are a favorite, as well as snorkeling adventures in Waikoloa on the Big Island of Hawaii. And with our IKON ski passes, we’re always ready for a weekend in Mammoth.
Favorite Local Spots
We’ve already discovered some go-to spots nearby. We enjoy walking to Osho Sushi for dinner, and grabbing breakfast at The Kettle. Thai Dishes is our favorite for Thai food, and Baskin-Robbins is our dessert stop—all within walking distance. The kids love the robots at CPK, and we spend a lot of time at Polliwog Park with the dogs. I’ve also taken up running along The Strand, a perfect way to enjoy the area.
Looking Forward to Community Connections
We’re excited to get more involved in the neighborhood! One of our favorite memories so far was the Tree Lighting at the pier—seeing the whole community come together was truly special.
We’re always looking to connect with our neighbors and can’t wait to see what’s next in this amazing community.
Publisher’s Note:
We’re so glad to have the Braibanti family in the neighborhood! Their adventurous spirit and welcoming nature make them a wonderful addition. If you see Chrissy, Mark, Ella, Lucy, or their playful pups, Marshmallow and Cocoa, be sure to say hello!
